Harrison Hale/Gordon Heights Community Educational Resource Center
The Harrison Hale—Gordon Heights Educational Resource Center, is a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization which has for the past nine years implemented programs and activities to benefit the working poor, homeless, senior citizens, youth and low to moderate-income individuals and families. These programs aide in the prevention and elimination of slums and or blight by designing programs that meet community needs focusing particularly on conditions that pose a serious and immediate threat to the health and welfare of the community. At the Harrison Hale-Gordon Heights Community Educational Resource Center, we seek to be an aid to the lives of the community by the institution of multiple programs to assist in the livelihoods of those we interact with on a daily basis. As a result, the Center seeks to incorporate a holistic approach in trying to aid those we serve with multiple programs based at the Center such as Cornerstone Kiddie Kollege Day Care, Advantage Afterschool: Believe and Achieve Program, Community Café, and Department of Labor: Suffolk Works Employment Program. These programs have proven to be successful in assisting many constituents of Suffolk County and yet continue to help enhance the quality of life for residents on Long Island. Harrison Hale Community Café

Betty Hale Home of the Brave
The Betty Hale Home of the Brave will seek to provide transitional housing for veterans in Suffolk County, Long Island to give them a chance to empower themselves through strong counseling, employment opportunity, and a privileged environment. The Betty Hale home of the Brave is aimed to serving homeless veterans and providing them a place of stability within their community and to capitalize on self-growth from a strong network system. Veterans will have no reason to be in need or in disassociation by being welcomed into the neighborhood with open invitation and exposure to a helping ministry. The nexus of the church, community center, and community café being located within walking distance allows for the veterans to have their job needs, nutritional needs, and fellowship needs instantly fulfilled. Services to be made for access include a licensed social worker at the Harrison Hale Community Action Center along with a chance to volunteer at local events sponsored by the church or community which is consistently active. The Veterans Affairs Agency would be able to see the transition of veterans from haplessness to self-sufficiency rapidly from the uplifting of their moods and position in society.
