Scripture & Reflection Questions for September 13

Exodus 14:19–31
When have you recognized God's presence carrying you through something you weren't sure you could get through?

Psalm 114
The Psalm celebrates God's power and presence. Where in your life or in creation are you most aware of God's presence?

Romans 14:1–12
Paul reminds us that faithful people will not always agree. How can we make room for differences without allowing them to divide us?

Matthew 18:21–35
Jesus challenges Peter to think differently about forgiveness. What makes forgiveness difficult, and how might remembering the grace we have received change the way we offer grace to others?

These questions are simply a place to begin. Spend some time with them, bring your thoughts and questions, and see where the Scriptures may lead you. You are always welcome to join the conversation as we continue learning and growing together in faith.

On the Journey ~ Walking Together in Faith

This week's Scriptures remind us that faith is something we remember and something we live. We remember God's faithfulness through the stories of those who came before us, but that faith takes shape in the way we love, listen, forgive, and work through the difficult moments of life together.
Following Christ doesn't mean we will always agree or never hurt one another. It does mean we are called to choose love, seek understanding, and remember that Christ is present among us as we learn to live faithfully.

Our August mission project was "The Imagination Library", started in Taylor County by the Literacy Council. Our goal at the Medford United Methodist Church is mission outreach into our community.
