Rogue Valley Fellowship We are a fellowship of believers whose desire is to be a Faithful Presence and a Prophetic Witness in our neighborhoods and the world.

We believe we are a community of people called into existence by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit who are then sent into the world to be a sign, instrument, and foretaste of the Kingdom of God.

The walk is done. Holy Island is home for now.

65 miles from Melrose. Rain, sun, blisters, a twisted ankle, a tidal crossing barefoot, and a garden in full bloom where pilgrims sat reading Compline by evening light.

Andy Raine showed up and sang the St. Cuthbert Compline for them. He wrote it. That doesn’t happen every day.

These people walked every step. They are coming home changed. Welcome them well when they get back.

They made it.

Day 6 on Holy Island, Lindisfarne. The walk is done. 65+ miles from Melrose, through rain and sun, over Wideopen Hill, past St. Cuthbert’s Cave, across the causeway. Every step.

Today they got a personal tour from Andy Raine, one of the founders of the Northumbrian Community. That statue is St. Aidan, who established the monastery on Lindisfarne in 635 AD. Same island. Same shoreline.

Thank God with them for 65 miles of provision.

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’” — Psalm 91:1-2

Day 5 in the books.

Ten miles. St. Cuthbert’s Cave. And for the first time, Holy Island came into view across the water. The end is in sight.

Cuthbert himself is said to have sheltered in that cave. Our team sat in the same rock shelter today, looked out at the same coastline, and kept walking. Olivia’s ankle is swollen. She walked all 10 miles anyway.

One day left. Pray them across the causeway.

“How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, near your altar, Lord Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.” — Psalm 84:1-4

Day 4 in the books.

The sun showed up today, and it turns out the sun is harder to walk in than rain. They traded soaked boots for sunburned shoulders and kept moving.

The scenery was stunning, the sheep were unbothered, and somewhere along the way Olivia twisted her ankle. She kept walking. 🤯

That last part pretty much sums up this group.

Pray for Olivia’s ankle as they head into the final stretch. Pray for rest, healing, and the kind of endurance that only comes from somewhere deeper than your legs.

“I lift my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from?” — Psalm 121:1

Day 3 in the books for our team on St. Cuthbert’s Way.

Nine miles. Wideopen Hill at 1,207 feet. Rain that did not ask permission. And smiles at the top anyway.

They passed the highest point on the trail today, which also marks the halfway point between Melrose and Lindisfarne. The hard day everyone was praying for? They walked it and came out the other side.

Keep praying for them. The miles add up, and so does the grace.
