Mecosta "The Village" Free Methodist Church

Mecosta "The Village" Free Methodist Church Beginning with acceptance to everyone,.. "like in the book of Acts" where people know each other, pray for each other, share meals together.

Learning who each other are they seek to meet each others needs. Worship is not your typical Church Service--tables are set up, which lends to a much more casual community setting. You can have coffee during church. It's very non-traditional and non-threatening. It is love for people and the Gospel that inspires the message each week. As the congregation comes together, God ministers to the people though each other. It's a ministry of people with a heart for God and a heart for each other.

Sunday's Promise:
"He will guard the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength no man shall prevail." ( 1 Samuel 2:9 )

The Lord promises to protect us and keep us according to His will. The all-powerful God is our defense, provider and refuge in this life. Indeed, in our own strength we can do nothing, but through His strength we can do all things (Philippians 4:13)!

Sunday's Promise:
"And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character, and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." (Romans 5:3-5)

We are promised that our sufferings will bear a fruit greater than the power of the suffering: we are promised genuine hope that does not disappoint! What glorious fruit! So then is suffering counted by Paul a reason for rejoicing! (BLB)

Sunday's Promise:
"For he who sows of the flesh will of the flesh reap corruption; but he who sows of the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart." (Galatians 6:8-9)

If we sow the things of the flesh (that is, the things of sin), then we will reap eternal punishment; but if we sow the things of the Spirit (that is, the things of God), then we will reap eternal happiness and joy! As we sow the things of God and cultivate them we must keep pressing on. It may seem that our work is worthless, but in the end, we will reap eternal life with God. For what better harvest could we hope? (BLB)

Sunday's Promise:
"He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God." (Revelation 2:7)

Life and life eternal! That is the promise of God to all His people. The redeemed will conquer and their reward is to eat of the tree of life forever! Their heavenly rest is won, enjoyed, and assured. No more fear. No more anxiety. No more suffering. They eat of the fruit of God and are comforted! (BLB)

Sunday's Promise:
"You who have shown me great and severe troubles, shall revive me again, and bring me up again from the depths of the earth." (Psalm 71:20)
Though we are faint with the troubles of this present age. Though we are as dead men by the futility of our works. Though we are perishing by the minute-captive to the ravishing effects of Adam's guilt. Though we deserve it not, still does the Lord stand ever by His people, faithful to revive their souls! Faithful to bring His dying to new life everlasting! Faithful to cleanse His downtrodden children, clothing them in the white robes of righteousness and crowning them in glory! Praise the Lord all you His people! He is the maker of new life, the crafter of all redemptive history! And yes, dear believer, He is ever worthy of your endless adoration! (BLB)

Sunday's Promise:
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye." (Psalm 32:8)
God promises to instruct His children into every righteous path. He sent us His very Spirit to guide us in His ways. God cares for us beyond measure imaginable and His Spirit will be faithful to illuminate the glorious treasures of His truth. Ask God to teach you. Ask God to make you teachable. He shall faithfully do both! And by your growth God will use you to edify others in the body of Christ! (BLB)

Sunday's Promise:
"For His anger is but for a moment. His favour is life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." (Psalm 30:5)

You may weep and you may mourn over the troubles of this life, but know this you believers: your weeping will last only a night—for the smallest portion of your life. Once your joy is restored, those times of sadness and despair will seem only the briefest of moments. This life can be seen as a time of weeping; but when compared with the joy of eternity, our suffering seems slight and insignificant indeed. Praise the Lord that He is soon coming! (BLB)

Sunday's Promise:
"In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also having believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise," (Ephesians 1:13)

God has placed a seal on those who have believed in Him. This seal is the Holy Spirit which was promised and is a sign that we are now God's property. What belongs to God is God's and cannot be taken by another. God ferociously guards His property and will allow nothing to separate us from Him. (BLB)

Sunday's Promise:
"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." (1 Corinthians 1:18)
Thank you Lord that "all the valued learning of this world is confounded, baffled, and eclipsed, by the Christian revelation and the glorious triumphs of the cross." -Matthew Henry
