A warm afternoon in the garden but lots was accomplished by our awesome volunteers! We harvester beautiful broccoli, the first cauliflower, green peppers and turnips for Mechanicsville Food Banks, and cardboarded and put down leaves in the tomato and pepper rows! WOW!

Every morning as we awake, when our rumbling stomachs tell us that our body needs breakfast, we should pause and remember that our ‘rumbling’ spirits need refueling as well! Ask yourself: How is my spirit being fed right now? What am I consuming? Is it good for me? Am I spiritually undernourished?

What are you doing Saturday morning? Want to help us plant the summer garden at the All Souls Community Garden? We would love to have you help us plant additional tomatoes, peppers, green beans, etc., starting at 9 am at 9077 Atlee Road in Mechanicsville. Just come, wear your old toe-closed shoes, and we will provide gloves, a hearty welcome, and a fun morning.

Beautiful tomato plants were planted today. These gorgeous plants were cultivated by one of our volunteers. Today's rain was ideal for planting and the forecast for more will be perfect. All food raised at the All Souls Community Garden goes to food banks in Mechanicsville, and everyone loves Hanovers. 🍅

Last night we used almost all the pieces of cardboard we had and leaves in the garden for w**d and water conservation. We are looking for donations of LARGE pieces of heavy cardboard, preferably without holes or color printing. If you have any to donate, we would welcome your donation. All Souls Community Garden is looking for help on Sunday afternoon, May 3, at 4, to put down cardboard between our beautiful little cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower plants. The garden is located at 9077 Atlee Road in Mechanicsville, the Atlee House.
Older kids are welcome to do this with us!
We are looking for LARGE pieces of heavy cardboard; if you have any, bring them with you.
Our lettuce will be picked this week and sent to food banks in our area! The cabbage area is ready for cardboard!

The All Souls Episcopal Church Community Garden has begun its 14th Growing Season!! The food grown is donated to local folks in need of free, fresh vegetables. So, come! Come join in the fun of planting - growing - caring for - and harvesting these vegetables.
