Matthew 18:15-20
Jesus said to his disciples:
"If your brother sins against you,
go and tell him his fault between you and him alone.
If he listens to you, you have won over your brother.
If he does not listen,
take one or two others along with you,
so that 'every fact may be established
on the testimony of two or three witnesses.'
If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church.
If he refuses to listen even to the church,
then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector.

Now that school is back in session and all the activities are amping back up, the slow ease of summer starts to fade and stress begins to creep in. Jim takes this opportunity on to remind us in the midst of all the busyness, stress, and trials, God remains steadfast.

From September 1st (World Day of Creation)-October 4th (Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi) Catholics and Christians alike celebrate the Season of Creation, a time for prayer, unity, and action to help make our environment a safe, healthy, and peaceful place. This season takes on an extra special meaning to Catholics during this Franciscan Jubilee year, as it was inspired by St. Francis, patron saint of animals and ecology. You might notice each week of this season that one of our songs at Mass will serve as a reminder of the joys of and our role in caring for God's creation. ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŽถ

Matthew 16:21-27
Jesus began to show his disciples
that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer greatly
from the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes,
and be killed and on the third day be raised.
Then Peter took Jesus aside and began to rebuke him,
"God forbid, Lord! No such thing shall ever happen to you."
He turned and said to Peter,
"Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to me.
You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do."

Then Jesus said to his disciples,
"Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself,
take up his cross, and follow me.
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world
and forfeit his life?
Or what can one give in exchange for his life?
For the Son of Man will come with his angels in his Father's glory,
and then he will repay all according to his conduct."

The month of August is dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, representing her perfect human response to the divine love of Jesus. Annette and Jan bring us another classic Marian hymn honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary this .
