We are so grateful for all the work that Real Life does, and we were blessed to get a visit from them to learn more about their programs and goals. And to top it off, we got to bless and pray for Thomas' journey on his MS bike ride across the US! Another special Sunday for the books!

We had a great time celebrating the Church's birthday this past Sunday! Pastor Anthony had fun casting aspersions into the congregation to remind us of our baptisms, we welcomed four wonderful new members, shared a holy meal, AND enjoyed a special communion song from a guest and family member. It's amazing we fit it all into one service!

Talk about an engaging Faith in Life bible study! The current series at New Hanover is titled "Do Justice", and if you're interested in being part of these thoughtful discussions we welcome you to join us after worship and coffee time on Sundays.
This past week the group was split in half, with each side brainstorming the experience of a rich man versus a poor man in a selected bible story. It was a powerful way to think about justice through the stories in Scripture. Not just as ideas, but as real human experiences, and to reflect on how those same dynamics still show up in our lives and communities today.

Many thanks to Camp Hanover for hosting last weekend’s women’s retreat! 💗 A few reviews from New Hanover members include:
“What a beautiful weekend full of fellowship, rest and learning about the divinity of the female contribution to society through Julian of Norwich’s life story. A big thank you to Rev. Sandi Goehring and Camp Hanover.”

“Learning about Julian of Norwich while getting to know the women in our church more deeply was such a beautiful reminder of the gift of community and the richness of womanhood. One of my big takeaways is that while we each have unique callings, we learn so much from one another simply by sharing our experiences—and that’s part of why Julian’s story is still so relevant today. It reminds me how important it is to slow down and make space to be together and share our lives.“

“I wish it could have been longer… this retreat as most are, are opportunities to strengthen relationships and get to know people (whom you may see on a regular basis) on a deeper level. Loved meeting new people and the feeling of community.
I also loved learning about Julian of Norwich and her lasting contribution to Christianity in her quote “All will be well, All will be well, all manner of things will be well”

”The time together, including new friends from other churches, fed my soul, my mind, my senses, and even my funny bone! ”
