CAMPFIRE IN OUR BACK YARD and MOVIE UNDER THE STARS – NOVEMBER 1st

The Youth & Family Ministry Committee invites youth in grades 6 through 12th to their first campfire. The event will be held on Friday, November 1, at 5:30 p.m. the field behind the church. Hot dogs and S’mores are on the menu.

After the youth have finished eating, family and friends are invited to join them for an outdoor movie starting at 7:00 p.m. Popcorn and hot chocolate will be served. Please bring chairs and blankets.

BLESSING OF THE PETS
Join us on this Sunday, October 6 (or October 13 if the weather is bad on October 6th) at 12:00 Noon in the church’s backyard for our Blessing of the Pets.

SOUP ON THE SIDEWALK

You are welcome to stop by on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 starting at 6:00 pm for our Soup on the Sidewalk event during the Mechanicsburg Halloween parade. It’s a great spot to watch the parade as well!

Here’s what’s coming up this summer!

Day Camp for kids
Day Camp at St. Mark will return this summer for kids from K- 5th grade. Those who are older are encouraged to come and help during camp this summer. We plan to learn about creation and God’s renewal of creation from July 30—August 1 from 8:30 am-3:30 pm. This FREE camp is a great way for our youth and youth in our community to grow in their faith! If you know young people who would like to attend, invite them to join us. If you want to be part of sharing faith with the next generation, let Pastor Marleen know and we will find ways for you to participate.

Backpack blessing
Start the school year off by joining us for the blessing of backpacks. During the service on Sunday, August 25, Pastor Marleen will bless the backpacks/ bookbags of students and teachers for a spirit-filled sendoff into the new academic year.

God’s Work, Our Hands
September 8 is a day of using our God-given gifts to serve others. One service we provide is a spaghetti dinner for homebound or others in need, but there will be other ways to help as well. Call the church office to see how you can help or if you have a neighbor who could use the meal.

Peaches and (Ice) Cream
Watch the sign in the back yard for the date. After an 8:30 service, we will meet in Fellowship Hall to enjoy peach treats and kick off Sunday School for the Fall.

St. Mark is opening the back yard of the church for you and our neighbors to sell your unwanted items at our yard sale, Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 9:00 am.

Multi-Family Yard Sale
117 W Keller St, Mechanicsburg, PA
The Yard Sale is in the back yard of St. Mark Lutheran Church located at the corner of West Coover Street and South High Street in Mechanicsburg. Address is the front of the church. The sale officially begins at 9:00 AM. Food and drinks also available. For sellers—you are welcome to set up beginning at 7AM.

So—if you are spring cleaning your home, attic, or garage, bring your “unwanted gems” as they may become someone else’s “treasure.” SPREAD THE WORD TO YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS!!!!! Hoping to see you on May 11! Please feel free to share this post!
