Pastor T.J. and his wife, Alyson, grew up together at Muncy First United Methodist Church. They sang in the choir, played in the handbell choir, and began to discover God’s call on their lives. At Muncy, their faith took root, their relationship grew, and they learned to serve Christ together. Today, Alyson serves as the Susquehanna Conference’s leadership development coordinator, supporting and encouraging clergy and laity throughout our conference.

A new chapter is about to begin at Shepherdstown United Methodist Church.

Before we begin this journey together, I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself, share a little of my heart, and offer a word about the God who meets us in the uncertainty of something new.

I’m looking forward to September 1—and to discovering together where the Good Shepherd will lead us.

With a degree in music from Lycoming College, Pastor T.J. McCabe sought a job as a cruise ship singer. God had other plans, guiding Pastor T.J. to earn his Master of Divinity from Drew Theological School. After 11 years as a United Methodist pastor, he comes to SUMC to help us faithfully follow wherever Christ leads the church.
