Weekly Devotional - Living a Wholehearted Life......

On Sunday, we wrapped up our series on "Uncharted: Navigating Your Heart". Our focus was on continuing to live a wholehearted life and what that looks like with others. The wholehearted life is not easy, and yet it is so worth it. Imagine a life of joy instead of gloom and misery. Imagine a life where you are free from the shackles of the everyday because your identity is so secure in God. Spiritual fruit is what we produce (fruit of the Spirit) from our life with God and others. The inward practices that shape and transform us --- what is working and what is not? Do you need to physically stop what you are doing today and pray for a few minutes? Do you have anger within yourself that needs to be given to Jesus? A wholehearted life is continually seeking the heart of God, which produces a harvest of joy. We could all use a little more joy today. Seek it. Celebrate it! And help set others free from what binds them. This is the beauty of the Gospel.

Reflection Questions/Thoughts:

1. What one word describes your heart today?
2. Are your palms open or closed regarding cultivating a life of generosity? Note: this is not merely financial. Think generosity from a holistic approach!
3. Create some space today in your schedule to breathe and be still.

Everyone will have haters. Christians are not immune to this. To define a "hater", we must differentiate between a hater and one who disagrees with you. A hater wants to see you, your faith, or your church---fail. A hater is someone who strongly dislikes a specific person or object. Someone who disagrees with you is simply not on the same page as you. The disagreers do not want to see your downfall but may still hurt you, even if by accident. Know the difference between those who disagree and those who hate. Get prayed up!
