This Sunday, we are slowing down in Ephesians 4, and looking at Acts 20 and other texts which talk about shepherds/pastors/elders/overseers, and refreshing ourselves in what this office looks like, and what to look for in a man who is qualified to be an elder. The NT describes leaders as gifts to the church. While we know leaders are not perfect, we also know this is God's design to have men lead His church. Come this week and next week to discover the divine design for leadership in the church, and be encouraged by how God provides care, equipping, and governance to His church faithfully and by His gracious design. This message will unpack some of the pieces that go into the church and how this is intended and designed by God to bring about maturity and health in the local church when each part is working properly, building the body up in love.
