Stationed under the shade of a tree in Thermal, California; Gloria Gomez, Claudia Castorena and 12 enthusiastic volunteers provided canned food baskets to approximately 100 families on that first day. Serving Underprivileged and Disadvantaged Families

The Galilee Center offers year-round assistance through its Farmworker Center and Our Lady of Guadalupe Shelter, the weekly food distribution of fr

esh vegetables and fruit, canned and dry goods, plus vital services for infants, children and seniors. Galilee Center further operates two Thrift Stores that enable the community to purchase clothing, shoes and other necessities through vouchers. The east Coachella Valley nonprofit, recognized for its wide-ranging services to many of the area’s overlooked, relies largely on the generosity of the public to sustain its ability to provide clothing, food and shelter to all ages from its 20,000 sq. The Galilee Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that fulfills the needs of local underprivileged and disadvantaged families, children and farmworkers in the east Coachella Valley. The Galilee Center is in its eighth year of operation by locally respected founders Claudia Castorena and Gloria Gomez.

Help local students start the school year prepared and ready to learn. 📚✏️ From June 1 through Aug 3, Galilee Center will be collecting school supplies for children in our community ahead of our Back-to-School Distribution on August 6.

Items can be dropped off at 66-101 Hammond Rd, Mecca. Interested in supporting the drive by serving as a collection site? Please call 760-396-9100. Monetary contributions are also welcome, please donate at galileecenter.org/donate

Needed items include:
