Sunday

Thursday—He served.
Friday—He sacrificed.
Saturday—He was silent.

The King is alive.

Saturday….

The cross is behind us…
but the tomb is still closed.

He’s buried.
The silence is loud.
Hope feels distant.

But God is never absent in the silence.

Sunday is coming.

It wasn’t the nails that held Him there…
it was love.

He took our place.
He bore our sin.
He paid it in full.

“But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

This is why we call it Good Friday.

On the night He was betrayed…
He didn’t run.
He didn’t resist.
He served.

The King took a towel.
The Savior washed feet.
The Lamb prepared for sacrifice.

Palm Sunday gets the attention…

but Monday says a lot too.

Because Monday was not soft.
Monday was not quiet.
Monday was not passive.

Monday was when Jesus walked into the temple
and started flipping tables.

Not because He was out of control.
Not because He “lost His temper.”
But because people had turned something holy
into something corrupt.

They made God’s house about profit.
About appearance.
About gain.
And Jesus refused to stay silent in the middle of it.

That part matters.

Because people love the version of Jesus
who rides in humble
and gentle.

But they get uncomfortable with the version of Jesus
who confronts what is fake.
Who exposes what is greedy.
Who protects what is sacred.

And honestly…
some of us need Monday Jesus right now.

The Jesus who clears out what does not belong.
The Jesus who disrupts what we got too comfortable with.
The Jesus who will not let impurity sit where prayer is supposed to live.

Then right after that…
He cursed the fig tree.

A tree full of leaves
but no fruit.

It looked alive.
It looked healthy.
It looked like something was there.

But it was all appearance.

And that will preach all by itself.

Because God is not impressed by leaves.
Not impressed by image.
Not impressed by looking the part
while producing nothing.

He wants fruit.
Real fruit.
Obedience.
Integrity.
A heart that is clean even when nobody is watching.

So yes…
Palm Sunday reminds us to praise.

But Monday reminds us to examine.

What needs to be flipped over in me?
What have I allowed in places that were supposed to stay holy?
Where am I full of leaves…
but empty of fruit?

Everybody wants resurrection Sunday.

But first comes the Monday
where Jesus starts cleaning house.
