Most animals will typically deliver their young while lying down. However, the Giraffe is one of the exceptions. They will deliver their young while standing up even though it could be almost a 10-foot drop for her young calf. After the calf is delivered, and it is lying on the ground, the mother will kick it sending it sprawling. The reason for this is she wants it to get up. Any time the baby stops trying to get up the mother will prod it yet again. The mother knows if the baby calf does not remember “how to get up” it will soon become easy prey for any predator. Sometimes the trials and testings’ that God brings into our lives seem to be harsh and unfair. Sometimes it may feel like we are being kicked instead of comforted. However, in every circumstance and situation, God is faithful. He knows what we need the most to learn and how best to teach us. God often does things we cannot understand in the moment. Some things we may never fully see until we reach Heaven. Nevertheless, He is always faithful and we can always trust Him. I encourage you today, keep getting up, and keep moving forward towards Him.
