The things we repeatedly tell ourselves can keep old cycles alive.

Shame may sound like:

“I’m the problem.”

“I’ll never change.”

“I’ve already messed up too much.”

Those thoughts can feel convincing without being true. When shame becomes part of our normal inner conversation, it affects how we see ourselves, relate to others, and respond to the possibility of change.

In this full teaching, Pastor David A. Case explores negative self-talk, personal responsibility, and the difference between honestly recognizing a problem and defining ourselves by it.

The cycle doesn’t have to keep repeating. We can learn to recognize the story, bring it before God, and begin responding from truth.

An anxious thought can feel urgent without being true. Learn how to notice when thoughtful concern becomes a spiral, return to what is true right here, right now, and identify your next faithful step.

Daily Devotional from David A. Case:
When Your Thoughts Begin to Spiral

When one anxious thought leads to another, your mind may begin preparing for problems that haven’t happened. Learn how to notice the turn, return to what is true right here, right now, and take the next faithful step.

Uncertainty can make us feel as though we shouldn’t move until we understand the entire path.

Recovery and heart change rarely happen that way. We often receive enough clarity for one faithful decision, one healthy boundary, or one honest step at a time.

You don’t have to solve everything today. Take the next step God has placed before you, and trust Him with what you cannot yet see.

Anxiety presses us to hold everything together. Faith allows us to obey our part without carrying God’s. As we release the weight and stop pressing for control, peace can begin taking root where anxiety used to rule.

What if finding God’s will is less about figuring out the entire future and more about walking closely with Him today?

Today offers this encouragement:
If we seek Him and walk in who He created us to be, the rest of the path will take care of itself.

God’s direction isn’t meant to remain a mystery that keeps us anxious or afraid of making the wrong choice. As we learn who He created us to be, recognize what He is doing within us, and cooperate with Him one step at a time, the pathway ahead becomes clearer.

Join us for the Pathways to Life One-Day Retreat

Sometimes, we take on more than we should—another person’s choices, responsibilities, or outcomes as though they were our own. God invites us to care and influence faithfully without carrying weight that He never asked us to keep.

Daily Devotional from David A. Case: You Don’t Have to Carry It All

Caring is good, but sometimes care turns into loadbearing. We begin carrying another person’s choices, responsibilities, or outcomes as though they were ours. God invites us to do what is ours to do, receive His help, and put down the weight we were never meant to carry.

Waiting on God’s timing can feel especially difficult when something matters deeply. Anxiety may push us to force movement just so we can feel more in control, but faith can remain present and obedient without rushing the process.

Today's Devotional from David A. Case: You Don’t Have to Force the Timing

Waiting can make us feel powerless, especially when something matters deeply. Anxiety may push us to force movement simply so we can feel more in control. Faith allows us to do what is ours to do and trust God with the timing.

Helping someone doesn’t give us the power to control how that person responds.

When an outcome doesn’t unfold the way we hoped, we may turn the disappointment inward and decide that we failed. That self-judgment can add even more anxiety to an already difficult situation.

We can care deeply, speak truth, offer support, and remain faithful without taking responsibility for a result that belongs to God.

We can sow and water. God gives the increase.

Know someone carrying a heavy load?

Maybe they’re the person everyone depends on.

The one who keeps fixing, helping, organizing, protecting, or trying to hold things together when life remains unresolved.

Much of what we’ve learned through years of walking alongside men and women at The Omega Project has helped shape the practical, Christ-centered resources now being developed through Heart Change U.

If someone comes to mind, this may be one simple way to help.

When we don’t know what to do, anxiety can make any action feel better than waiting.

We may push for an answer, make a decision too quickly, or try to create movement simply because uncertainty feels unsafe. Sometimes the faithful response is to admit, “I don’t know yet,” keep our eyes on God, and trust Him for the next step.
