Hello everyone! Robby and Heather have been called out to the nursing home because their step-mother, Debra, is worse. The hospice nurse said it could be as soon as 24-48 hours. As bad as we hate to have to cancel the lake bash again, we are going to. They feel their place is to be with her during this time. Please pray for all involved as she makes the transition from this life to the next. Please say a special prayer for Heather and Robby as they take care of all the things that have to be done.

Welcome to Bates Hill Church! I’m Pastor Robby Black, and I’m so glad you’ve joined us for today’s message, “When My Heart Is Overwhelmed,” from Psalm 61. There are times when life becomes heavier than we know how to carry, but feeling overwhelmed doesn’t mean we’ve lost our faith or that God has abandoned us. In this message, we’ll see that we don’t have to hide our pain or pretend to be strong—we can cry out to God and ask Him to lead us to the Rock that is higher than we are. That Rock is Jesus, and even when we don’t know what happens next, we can trust the One who’s holding us now.

Hey Bates Hill family! Just wanted to give everyone a quick update about our Sunday night Bible study.
Walter, Tyler, and I have talked, and before Tyler begins leading us through his study on Timothy, we’ve decided to take a couple of Sunday nights and watch The Great Awakening together. We had talked about watching it before, and several folks have mentioned that they would like to see it.
Since the movie is around two hours long, we’ll divide it up over the next two Sunday nights and then spend some time afterward talking about what we’ve watched and discussing it together.
After that, Tyler will begin leading us through the study on Timothy. I’m looking forward to both and think we’re going to have some really good Sunday nights together!
