In 1896, the 3 Angels’ Messages were first preached in Warren County, TN. But in 2010, after several previous church facilities, our McMinnville church was in need of a new facility. Under the leadership of Elder Harley Roth, our members stepped out in faith to build a new church next to our school. It was arranged for volunteers from the Mid-Georgia Builders for Christ Baptist Volunteers to assist us in building our new church. Many lasting friendships were forged from this unusual partnership.
A 15-year mortgage was taken out for the remaining building expenses. Our faithful members gave sacrificially to our building fund allowing us to consistently pay extra every month on our mortgage. After a generous donation earlier this year, our mortgage debt was paid in full 6 years and 4 months early.
On Sabbath afternoon, May 14, 2022, our church enjoyed a Mortgage Burning Celebration service. Elder Ben Dale had members from previous decades stand. The last decade still standing was the 1950’s. Our new Bible worker, Isaac Privett, opened with prayer. Our previous pastors, Elder Dennis Clark and Elder Eric Ellison, shared our church history and had the closing prayer, respectively. Elder Kurt Allen, VP of Finance for the Georgia-Cumberland Conference, led out in the burning of our mortgage. And Elder Gary Rustad, President of the Georgia-Cumberland Conference, shared an inspirational and challenging message. Several of our talented members shared special music.
As Elder Rustad reminded us in his message, we are now able to put all of our resources into spreading God’s end-time message. The timing is perfect, as we are preparing for evangelistic meetings starting in September, 2022. We solicit your prayers, as by God’s grace, we finish the work in Warren county, TN, so very soon we can “meet the Lord in the air.” 1 Thessalonians 4:17
