Extreme Lengths

Jesus said, "I lay down my life for the sheep."
-John 10:15

Jesus went to extreme lengths to prove God's love to even the most sinful men. Luke 3 tells of a time when He had ministered all day, then got into a boat to go over to the other side. It wasn't an easy trip. they encountered hurricane force winds until Jesus rebuked the storm, putting a stop to it.
When they arrived, a man met them who was so full of evil spirits that he could not be bound-a man who lived in the tombs, thriving off of bodies and carcasses, cutting and beating himself. He ran toward Jesus, probably intending to kill Him, but when he ran into the presence of God, those demonic powers fell in subjection. Jesus drove out the demons and set the man free.
Think about the extremes Jesus went to. Why did He travel across the lake when He was so tired that he fell asleep shortly after sail? Why did he go through the storm, I'm convinced it's because God heard the cry of one desperate man and said to Jesus, "I don't care how bound up by perversion he is or what he." I love him. Go and set him free." -Terri Copeland Pearsons

God hears your cry too, and He has gone to great extremes to purchase your freedom. Be set free today!

Make Your Day Count
Think about the extremes that Jesus went to in order to set you free. By faith, give God those things that have bound you. In their place, take hold of the resurrection power that brought Jesus back to life and causes you to triumph over sin.

Psalms 40:2 says, He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

Heavenly Father, Thank you for loving us and pulling us out of the slimy pit and giving us a new life in Christ. I pray for the ones reading this that feel they are still in that pit and think there is no way out. Give them the courage to call out to Jesus and have faith he will pull them out and save them. Amen

"The Power of God's Love"
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
-1 John 4:7,8

God is love, and everyone who knows Him knows love. That means the words God and love are one and the same. Once I heard Kenneth Copeland say that every time you see the word God in Scripture, you can replace it with the word love and vice versa.
Take 1 John 4:18, for example, which says, "Perfect love drives out fear." you could exchange the word love for God, and then it would say, "God drives out fear."
If God is the highest power of all powers and it takes His love to get rid of fear, think about how powerful fear can be. Then it's easy to see how it keeps people in bo***ge. But the love of God is more powerful than anything. It can calm any situation and bring peace and hope instead.
Some people think that love is all about hearts and flowers. But getting through the tough situations in life takes more than a box of candy and greeting cards! God's love is powerful! When you understand the power of love and ask God to pour it out through you to those around you, you can become a bridge over troubled waters. Regardless of what you face today, I encourage you to pull out your secret weapon of love. -Lindsay Roberts

Make your Day Count
Are there areas of your life where fear is present? God wants to set you free. Receive His love today. As His love fills you up, it will flush away all fear. Next, let His love flow through you to others.

Heavenly Father, will you touch the hearts of the ones that read this, let them fell your love and know that are loved. Give them peace that passes all understanding. Amen

Good morning all my friends, its been a while since I have posted anything on here and I am sorry for that. Starting today I will be updating you on activities within the youth group at McLouth Church of the Nazarene. There is a lot more coming including concerts, fun nights out, and so much more. I hope you will join us on Wednesday's and Sunday's and the activities we have planned for the future.
