We are immensely grateful to Dr Katherine Evans for her inspiration speech on The Seven Sorrows of Mary, which took place on March 7th during our Lenten Morning of Reflection w/ Dr Katherine Evans. "Mary, in her humility, did not count her unique role as something to be grasped, but instead turned her full attention to the glory and majesty, might, and justice of her Savior, our Savior. Mary chose the words of her magnificat carefully because she knew that they would be remembered. She acknowledged that future generations would know her name and call her blessed. She chose to use her exalted place in history not to elevate herself, but to give all praise to God. Her emphasis is not on her motherhood, but on His Lordship. In fact, as we get to know Mary more and more, we learn that this is entirely consistent with her character. She does not seek, and indeed will not accept, our veneration except as an opportunity to point us to her Son and His saving works and so for this reason I want us to look at how Mary endured her trials not only as a mother but as the most faithful disciple. This is something that all of us, mothers and non-mothers alike, should strive to emulate."

On Friday, Bishop Burbidge and Bishop Knestout issued this joint statement:

"The extreme abortion amendment, which will proceed to a referendum for voters to decide later this year, would go far beyond even what Roe v. Wade previously allowed. It would enshrine virtually unlimited abortion at any stage of pregnancy, with no age restriction. "
