Don't forget your items to donate to the food pantry tomorrow! I'm putting mine in the car right now so that I don't have to worry about it in the morning. We love helping our CBS youth with the food drive and adding to the pantry for our host church!

Meet Alissa!
Alissa is a Core Leader here at McKinney-Allen CBS, and is new-ish to the area. Alissa and her husband, Mike, moved to Texas from California to be closer to family. We’re so glad she did. Alissa has one son—Jared—who shares her love of travel so much, he works as a pilot. And while Alissa may only have one child, she loves her precious Morkies to pieces. And who wouldn’t, with furry faces like those. Alissa also loves playing the piano, and served as ATD, core leader and a children’s teacher at her CBS group in California. She told me she’s so thankful to serve, but we’re also so thankful she’s here, with us! The last photo is one just for her, an old hymn that makes me think of her and her love for animals. We love you Alissa!

How well do you know Kimberly? She faithfully teaches us each week, but did you know she is a huge office supply fan? Nothing makes her heart happier than Jesus and a post-it note.

Kimberly married her college sweetheart, Kevin, 23 years ago, while studying music education. They have two children: Kathryn, a sophomore at Abilene Christian, studying business and accounting, and currently teaching Kimberly a lot about trusting the Lord, while she studies abroad in Montevideo, Uruguay, and Kyle, who turned them into empty nesters this year, when he started his Freshmen year at Texas Tech.

Kimberly’s favorite verse is Psalms 28:7, and today, I’m giving thanks for Kimberly’s song—we at CBS benefit from it every week!

Have you met Rachel Weant? She is on the admin team and is our “treasured treasurer.” Seriously. It took three of us to do her job before she answered the call to keep us balanced.

Rachel’s favorite verse is Psalms 46:10: Be still and know that I am God, and the photo of her family in Disney World, her favorite place, is a testament to this verse.

Rachel is married to Kevin and they have one son, Stefan. To celebrate Stefan’s adoption, her family went to Disney World a few years ago. Disney is one of Rachel’s favorite places, but when they took the family photo, it was day 4 and they were on Disney overload. The person taking the photo told an exhausted Stefan, “I’m SO excited for your adoption.” Stefan promptly burst into tears.

Rachel says, “We all started laughing so hard! It was such a sweet moment of realizing we were here, celebrating this huge family milestone we weren’t sure if we would ever see, but God answered that prayer, and it was chaotic but beautiful! Not only in that moment, but in the entire journey.”

I don’t know about you, but I need to go get some tissues now. Rachel, we appreciate you as treasurer but value you so much more as a fellow servant of Christ. Thank you for sharing!
