Lifepointe Fellowship McKinney

Lifepointe Fellowship McKinney Verse-by-verse Bible teaching church in McKinney, TX. We meet on Sundays at 10:00am. | 6374 Ridge Rd.

At Lifepointe, we are a committed and united body of Christ followers who desire to see the name of Jesus proclaimed both here in our neighborhoods and in the nations. We are not about being busy with church programs that will fill up our already busy lives, instead, we expect our members to fill their time with relationships in the church and in their community. Our model of church is made up of

a Sunday morning worship time and Lifegroups that meet in homes where we come together to share a common purpose, life, and belief in Jesus Christ. We also love our cities and the county in which we live, so we invest our lives in meeting the needs of those outside of our church by going into our cities. Our vision and philosophy of ministry is quite simple, we believe that living life together as a church is focused solely on engaging our life with Christ through worship, connecting, serving, and going. These four functions of church life shape all we do as a church and serve as our guide in how we connect our life with God. Denominationally we are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). This partnership allows us to cooperate with other SBC churches in accomplishing ministry around the world that would otherwise be difficult to accomplish on our own, such as the funding of missionaries.

This Week's 5 Thoughts!

What if you already have what you keep asking God for?

Five thoughts from Ephesians 5:1 on imitating the goodness of God: everything already given, the couch the dog destroyed, family resemblance, the one necessary thing, and why it was never really a sacrifice.

It is the great joy of the Christ-follower to live aware of the immense love that is poured over us as His beloved children. This truth moves us to desire to live as God loves. We will discuss this and more tomorrow morning. Join us at 10 AM.

Jonah knew exactly who God was. That was the problem — he didn't want his enemies to find out.
Christ bore the judgment that stood over us. And salvation gets offered to the very people who rejected Him.
That's the picture of grace this book is pointing at.

Jonah wept over a plant. God wept over a city.
The book ends without resolution — just a prophet sulking outside a place God spared, and a question left hanging.
The nearer your heart gets to God, the more it starts caring about what His heart cares about.

One preacher, one reluctant sermon, and a pagan city turned around.
Jesus steps onto the scene in Mark 1:15 with the same call — repent and believe the gospel. It goes out to every person, from every nation.

You can run from God's presence. You cannot outrun His pursuit.
And when He comes after His disobedient children, it isn't to destroy them. It's to bring them home.

Read Jonah 1 and watch the direction of every verb.
Down to Joppa. Down into the ship. Down into the sea. Down into the belly of the fish.
Sin takes you farther than you meant to go, costs more than you meant to pay, and pulls in more people than you meant to involve.

Jonah failed in chapter 1. God wasn't finished with him.
Grace doesn't excuse the failure. It hands you the chance to get up, obey, and keep going.
Are you still living in chapter 1?
