Ministry is about people, and we’re so thankful for the people God has placed on our team. ❤️

Today, we’re celebrating Hannah Rolfe, Caleb McClure, Katie Dahl, Christel Apodaca, and Michael Lewis! Each of you brings something special to First McKinney, and we’re grateful for the ways you love people, show up faithfully, and help others take steps toward Jesus.

Thank you for the time, heart, prayers, and care you pour into our church family. So much of what you do happens behind the scenes, but it makes a lasting difference in the lives of the people you serve. We’re better because of you, and we’re so thankful to do ministry alongside you!

It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and let our faith slowly drift to the background. We don’t always notice it happening.

That’s why Jesus’ words to the church in Sardis are such an important reminder. He didn’t call them back to life because He had given up on them, but because He hadn’t.

Maybe today is a good time to pause and ask ourselves: Am I really walking with Jesus, or have I just gotten comfortable?

The good news? Jesus is still calling us back to Him. ❤️

Sundays like this are what it’s all about. Worshiping together, taking a moment to pray, welcoming our Discipleship Minister, Casey, and his wife, Kate, and celebrating FOUR baptisms!

We loved celebrating Addalie, Isaac, Emily, and Ashley as they took that next step in their faith. What a joy to see how God is working in our church family!

We’re so thankful for Sundays together, and we’d love for you to join us next week at 9:15 or 10:45 AM. There’s a place for you here!

This week we are recognizing Justin Hornsby, Mark Presley, Molly Williams, and Hayden Gilliam. From leading us in worship and creativity to pouring into our kids and students, each of them serves our church with a heart for Jesus and a love for people.

Thank you for the ways you show up, serve faithfully, and invest in the lives of others week after week. Our church is better because of you, and we’re so grateful to do ministry alongside you!

How do we love people well without compromising what we believe?

This Sunday, we looked at Jesus’ message to the church in Thyatira, a church that had so much to celebrate. They were growing in love, faith, service, and perseverance. But Jesus also challenged them for allowing teaching that was leading people away from faithfulness to God.

Their reminder is one we still need today: loving people doesn’t mean we have to compromise truth. We can lead with grace, patience, and respect while staying rooted in God’s Word.

May we be people who hold grace and truth together, loving the people around us well while remaining faithful to Jesus.

A cool fall morning, a full house, and so many reasons to celebrate.

We celebrated new life in Christ with Christopher, welcomed Katie Dahl as our new Grade School Associate Minister, worshiped together, and enjoyed the kind of Sunday that reminds us why we love being the church.

We’re grateful for Sundays like this and for the people God is bringing into our First McKinney family. 🤍
