What are you worth? And who gets to decide?

Jesus answered that question in Luke 15 through three powerful stories about a lost sheep, a lost coin, and a lost son. In every story, the pattern is the same: something of great value goes missing, someone searches relentlessly until it is found, and when it is found, there is celebration. That is how God sees you.

Jesus paid it all for you. Heaven celebrates when the lost come home!

Who is the church for? It is a question Christians have wrestled with since the very beginning. In Acts 15, James, the half-brother of Jesus, settled the debate with a single declaration: “We should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.”

“It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.” - Acts‬ ‭15‬:‭19‬ ‭

Our job is to remove the debris, remove the barriers, and remove the hurdles between people and Jesus - that we don’t confuse our preferences with God’s requirements.

The grace and the good news of Jesus are not complicated, and we are to invite people into it.
