As Southern Baptists, we believe we can accomplish more together than we can separately for the Lord. Even before there was a Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), associations were the cornerstone of cooperation among Baptist churches in America. Therefore, we cooperate together in Collin County, striving to see every girl, boy, woman, and man within our reach experience a living witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

It has been a great three days at the North American Mission Board (NAMB)! I am thankful for Rick Curtis and their staff in offering such a great time of sharpening and connection for associational leaders across the nation.

It got to worship with Prestonwood Baptist Church - North Campus this morning! Great message on spiritual warfare from Jonathan Teague. Satan is a kamikaze, he is defeated but looking to destroy!

We had a great Executive Board Luncheon yesterday! Thank you to First Celina for hosting, Pastor Jacob Browning for bringing a strong word of encouragement, and Mark Turman from the Denison Forum for providing lunch from Tender BBQ!

I am honored to be a part of this group of Texas Associational leaders. We get to together twice a year to be sharpened and it has become a fixture on the calendar. Thank you to Jeff Iorg from the SBC and Rick Curtis from North American Mission Board (NAMB) for sharpening us!

I love history, and I got to celebrate some today with West Shady Grove Baptist Church in the town of Desert! They are celebrating their 135th anniversary. They worship in a building that was built in 1900, which may be the oldest in the association! One other church in the association was built that year, but I don't have the date.

Thank you Barry Calhoun from the IMB for leading our Lunch, Learn, and Link today! He sharpened us on how to get our churches to become sending churches and how to assess our effectiveness in sending. If you would like to talk to someone about missionary sending, get in touch with him!

I got to worship this morning with the White Rock Baptist Church, between Anna and Melissa! This historic church building is over 100 years old. Like much of Collin County, they sit at the intersection of our past and our future, on a quaint county road with the Outer Loop coming their way. Be in prayer for them as they reach people for Christ!
