With a cup of Café Verona in one hand and my TMFBC membership roster in the other hand, I have “lovingly” and “fervently” prayed for each TMFBC member by name. The Bible says we should weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice. Hence, my heart is heavy this morning as we mourn the loss of TMFBC member (Felix Cintron) and there are members of TMFBC who have loss a father and siblings. My prayers go out to all who are grieving the loss of a loved one; please rest in the 23rd Psalm, it has been the anchor and landing place for millions. I also have been in deep prayer for the surviving members of those who died due to the gas explosion fire in Oak Cliff. I say to everyone reading this post, the time to know Jesus the Christ as your Lord and Savior is now; and if you already know Jesus, then go share the Gospel with the unsaved. James 4:14 tells us, “Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a v***r that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.”
After we got off of our knees praying, we must go to work to help the unsaved come to Jesus, the backslidden return to Jesus, and the spiritually mature continue growing in Jesus. After we get off of our knees praying to God regarding the division, corruption, racism, and the lack of empathy for the least of the these…we must engage in random acts of kindness and share the Gospel. We must motivate non-registered voters to register to vote, and then we must vote (especially in the November midterms). What a sad commentary for Republicans in the state of Texas and all of the right wing MAGA Evangelicals…you voted for a man impeached by the Texas state “Republicans” on bribery and other charges; one who was indicted for felony securities fraud, engaged in adulterous affairs when he was married; he is a model of corruption…but…doesn’t that sound like a tRump backed candidate. I echo the comments of CNN senior political commentator Van Jones who said and I totally agree: "tRump betrayed a decent, honorable man who had a 99.2 percent record of supporting him in the U.S. Senate. He destroyed the career of U.S. Senator Coryn to elevate a dishonest, impeached and corrupt crook named Ken Paxton. When the President of the United States happily backs a bad man and throws a good man overboard, it sends a horrible message to the next generation. This president continues to do moral and ethical damage to the nation that will be hard to undo. Not surprised. But still disappointed in where GOP voters are.” It will be a monumental moment in November to see if “true Republicans” (not tRump MAGA cultist) and right-wing evangelicals will recognize that character and corruption are also on the ballot…who will they vote for? We shall see.
I urge you to join the TMFBC family as we continue to go make disciples…as we point people to Jesus (and not a political party or person)…as we stand in the gap for those serving in the military and their families…as we stand in the gap for widows, orphans, strangers, the unhoused, children who have undocumented parents, the poor and vulnerable, people struggling to buy gas, food, medicine, health insurance, and pray for the “least of these.” Finally, if you read this post and would like an extra layer of prayer, just like this post or type in your name and/or your prayer request. I want to remind A.E.Y.L. – Hope Women's Center – Samaritan Inn - The G.U.D. Life Universal IDD Community – Women Praying for Christ, Inc. - and our McKinney city officials you are always in my weekly prayers.
