*WHO IS YOUR SHEPHERD?*
Psalm 23:1, "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing."
As we gather today, I want to ask you a question that can change the trajectory of your life: Who is your shepherd? The Bible says in Psalm 23:1, "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing." This verse reminds us that the Lord is the ultimate shepherd, and when He is our shepherd, we can live in a green pasture, free from worries and fears.
*1. Who is your shepherd?*
For me, my shepherd is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the one who guides me, protects me, and provides for me. As the Bible says in John 10:11, "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me."
*2. How did you come about with your shepherd?*
I came to know the Lord as my shepherd through faith in His Word. Romans 10:17 says, "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Jesus Christ." I heard the message, believed, and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
*3. Do you have the right to change your shepherd?*
No, we do not have the right to change our shepherd. The Lord is our shepherd, and He has chosen us. In John 10:4, Jesus says, "When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice." We are His sheep, and He is our shepherd.
*4. If you have the right to change your shepherd, then How do you choose another shepherd?*
We don't have the right to change our shepherd, but if we were to choose, we would look for a shepherd who is like Jesus. In John 10:14, Jesus says, "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me." A good shepherd knows his sheep, feeds them, and protects them.
*5. How do you know who is the right shepherd?*
We know the right shepherd by His Word. In Psalm 119:105, it says, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." The Lord's Word is the guide that leads us to the right shepherd.
*6. What are the benefits of having the Lord as our shepherd?*
When the Lord is our shepherd, we lack nothing. Psalm 23:2-3 says, "He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul." We have peace, guidance, and protection.
*7. What happens when we reject the Lord as our shepherd?*
When we reject the Lord as our shepherd, we are like sheep without a shepherd. In Matthew 9:36, it says, "When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." We become vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy.
*Prayer Points:*
1. *Lord, thank you for being my shepherd.* Psalm 23:1, "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing."
2. *Help me to follow your voice, Lord.* John 10:27, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me."
3. *Guide me in your truth, Lord.* Psalm 25:5, "Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long."
4. *Protect me from false shepherds, Lord.* Matthew 7:15, "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves."
5. *Teach me to trust in you, Lord.* Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
May the Lord bless you and guide you as you meditate on these points. Amen.
