As a program of Christian Appalachian Project serving youth & teens of the Eastern Kentucky counties of Appalachia, it is our mission to promote the growth & education of our youth. Camp AJ strives to provide boys and girls a memorable camp experience that will last a lifetime, and to work in the local schools to teach & model a variety of social & communication skills.

At our teen event, our teens conquered the low ropes course element, Whale Watch! They did an amazing job communicating, encouraging one another, and working together as a team. Everyone made it on the course—and had a lot of fun doing it!

We had a wonderful teen event this weekend! We were so proud of our teens and how quickly they formed friendships. As one teen shared, the ice didn’t just break—it melted.
We bonded while working together to complete the low ropes course, Whale Watch, learning the value of teamwork and encouragement. We also enjoyed lots of great food and meaningful conversation.
We ended the weekend with plenty of laughter gathered around the campfire. We truly feel blessed and believe we have an amazing group of teens in our leadership program.
