MEFC Ghetto Welcome to the MEFC Ghetto page! This is the place to find all of the news, information, dates, and permission slips needed for Ghetto/Shine events.

MEFC GHETTO and SHINE are the youth ministry of the McHenry Evangelical Free Church. Currently the Jr High (SHINE) and Sr High (GHETTO) ministries are meeting together at the same time.

Our King's Camp trip is coming up THIS WEEKEND! July 15-17 we will be driving to King's Camp where we will stay in cabins, play lots of fun games, eat excellent food, enjoy campfires together, and spend quality time in God's word. If you are in junior high or high school, we would LOVE for you to join us! If you're interested please message us so we can get you the details and a permission slip. If you know any junior high or high school students who would enjoy this trip please share this post or let them know! We absolutely hope to see you there!

Today is our annual Photo Scavenger Hunt! Come on out to the Evangelical Free Church of McHenry from 3-8! We'll form teams and head out to take some ridiculous pictures 📸 around town. After that the photos will be judged back at church ⛪️ and the winning team will receive the epic Scavenger Cup 🏆! Hotdogs 🌭 and s'mores at a bonfire 🔥will wrap up the event. Permission slips are required 📝but your parents can sign when they drop you off. This is a free event, all junior high and high schoolers welcome! Bring your friends 👬👭 and hope to see you in a couple hours!

Hi everyone! Forecast is iffy for tonight but we are going to meet at McCullom Lake Beach Park at 6:30 anyway and hopefully we'll be able to play games there. If the weather isn't playing nicely then we will move games to the church, at the corner of Ringwood Rd and Flanders. Don't let the weather stop you! Hope to see you there!

For the months of June and July youth group will be held at McCullom Lake Beach Park from 6:30-8:30. Come join us for games, snacks, and to hang out with some great people 😋. Bring your friends too! All junior highers and high schoolers are welcome. We'd love to see you tonight! ☀️

Youth group Christmas party is tonight!! It's from 6:30-8:30. Please bring a white elephant gift and girls bring a snack; guys bring a drink. We'll be doing some fun Christmas -themed games! See you there!

Youth group tonight! 6:30-8:30. We will be continuing our study in 2 Timothy. We will also have permission slips for the upcoming lock-in on October 23rd. Hope to see you there!

Tomorrow we are going to Culver's and going bowling! Meeting at Evangelical Free Church of McHenry at noon and carpooling. We will be back at 4pm. Permission slips will be at the church when you get dropped off. Bring $5 for bowling and $$ for Culver's. It will be a fun afternoon!!
