Jean Lande is one of our longest-standing members and a lifelong member of Hope. Throughout the years, she has faithfully served our congregation in many roles, including church council member, choir member, and communion care. Jean is an active lay reader during Sunday services and has been involved with HLCW, and she previously served Hope as Financial Secretary.

Known for her kindness and warm, welcoming smile, Jean is a steady and gracious presence in our congregation. We are deeply grateful to have such a caring, faithful, and dependable person serving on our Call Committee.

Please join us in praying for Jean as she serves on the Call Committee, that God would grant her wisdom, discernment, and peace as she helps guide this important work.

What a beautiful Sunday we just celebrated. We were able to give first communion to two members, Ella and Erin. Then followed that up with another Christmas Program brought to us by Jenna Mood and the wonderful children of Hope!

Please join us in praying for Brooke Ecker, and all members of our Call Committee as they continue the important work of discerning and searching for a new pastor for Hope Lutheran Church.

Brooke has been a faithful member of Hope for over 10 years. She is married to Arick Ecker and together they raise their three wonderful children — Jacob, Lucas, and Ella.

She gives so much of her heart and time to our congregation, serving on the HLCW, acting as our Superintendent of Sunday School, and teaching all of the children of Hope each Sunday morning. Beyond church, Brooke works part-time at a small property development company in McFarland, enjoys supporting her children in all of their activities, and loves to craft whenever time allows.

We are grateful for her service, and her faith.

Please keep Brooke and the entire Call Committee in your prayers as they seek God’s guidance in this important season for our church.

Spot Light on Call Committee Member - Shannon Morrison!

Shannon Morrison has been a member for approximately 4 years. On Sunday morning, she can be seen sitting with her mother, Irma Caban Timm, and children Char and Cece. Shannon has served on Church Council as Youth Ministry Chair, during which time she initiated an active Vacation Bible School.

Thanks to all who attended the special Call Committee meeting on Sunday, November 2, 2025!
The Call Committee plays a crucial role in the process of hiring a new pastor by serving as the primary liaison between the congregation and potential candidates. This committee is responsible for gathering input from church members, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and evaluating each candidate’s qualifications and fit with the church’s mission and values. Throughout the process, the Call Committee ensures transparency, facilitates communication, and ultimately recommends the candidate who best aligns with the spiritual and practical needs of the congregation. Their work is essential in guiding the church through a thoughtful and prayerful decision-making process that leads to the selection of a new pastoral leader.

The first featured member is Noel Rudie -
Council Vice-President, has been chosen by the Church Council to lead the group. Noel was confirmed and married at Hope to Jane Rodefeld -- another recognizable name. They moved to Iowa for his job, and both were active in their church there. Noel has served on a call committee while in Iowa; his experience will be invaluable.
