Be part of this village!

We partner with Hope4Kids International, which has helped bring clean water to villages across Uganda for years -- we've funded 23 wells since 2018.
Clean water means fewer childhood illnesses, more girls in school, and healthier families for generations.

On September 19th, Walk 4 Water McFarland has a goal raising $57,500 to fund 5 wells this year!! That's 5 villages in southeast Uganda with clean fresh water!

20 Years of Showing Up!
For more than 20 years, McFarland Lutheran Church member Bonnie Dirks traveled to Uganda to help bring clean water and education to rural villages. In April, she made her last missionary trip — and Pastor Ruth Kahawa presented her with a plaque honoring her work. “It filled my life with purpose,” Bonnie said.

Ron Vandeberg, who chairs MLC's Global Mission Committee, has made five trips of his own. “Once you visit Uganda and see firsthand the terrible water rural villagers are drinking, you can't help but be touched by their need,” he says. “The gratitude the villagers show for the gift of fresh water touches your soul and compels you to do more.”

This weekend we blessed these amazing quilts and prayer shawls! Thanking God for the pieces of fabric, the thread, the sewing machines and needles for crocheting and knitting. And we prayed that these creations would be signs of hope, wrapping our neighbors in unending love! Thank you to all the quilters, knitters and crochet-ers!
