Nearly half a century.

That's how long Doc Smith (on the right) was incarcerated for a crime he committed at the age of 22. In his words, "I made a terrible decision and deserved to go to prison and I would take it all back if I could. I'm thankful God didn't give up on me. But reached down a rescued me."

He was at Tyger River in 2007 when Don Williams launched JUMPSTART. In fact, he had already been at Tyger River since 1994.

He served as an inside leader for years; many can testify to the Lord's impact on their life through Doc.

Now, he has returned as a JUMPSTART volunteer at the same institution he spent 25 years helping men discover how with Christ their future will be greater than their past.
