🔥 DAY 1 – REPAIR THE ALTAR
Reclaiming The Altar: 7 Days of Fire
June 1
Scripture
1 Kings 18:30 (NKJV)
“Then Elijah said to all the people, ‘Come near to me.’ So all the people came near to him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down.”
Before the Fire Fell, the Altar Had to Be Repaired
One of the greatest misconceptions in the Body of Christ is that fire is the first thing God sends.
It isn’t.
Before the fire came in Elijah’s day, the altar had to be repaired.
Before Pentecost came, there was prayer in the Upper Room.
Before Solomon saw the glory fill the Temple, sacrifices were offered.
Before revival comes, God deals with the altar.
We often ask:
“Lord, send the fire.”
“Lord, send revival.”
“Lord, pour out Your Spirit.”
But God asks:
“What condition is your altar in?”
What Is the Altar?
The altar is more than a physical structure.
The altar represents:
🔥 The place of prayer
🔥 The place of surrender
🔥 The place of sacrifice
🔥 The place of worship
🔥 The place of covenant
🔥 The place of encounter
The altar is where heaven touches earth.
The altar is where flesh dies and God is glorified.
The altar is where transformation begins.
Broken Altars Don’t Burn
Israel’s problem wasn’t that God stopped being God.
The problem was that the altar was broken.
The stones had been scattered.
The covenant had been neglected.
The people had become distracted.
The altar that once hosted the presence of God had fallen into disrepair.
How many believers today have broken altars?
Not because they don’t love God.
But because life, distractions, offense, busyness, compromise, and comfort have slowly dismantled the place where they once met with Him.
A neglected altar eventually becomes a powerless altar.
What Breaks an Altar?
1. Neglect
You cannot abandon prayer and expect fire.
The altar dies when it is ignored.
2. Compromise
Every compromise removes another stone.
Little by little the altar becomes unstable.
3. Busyness
Many people are active for God but no longer spend time with God.
Activity can never replace intimacy.
4. Familiarity
We become accustomed to God’s presence and stop pursuing Him with hunger.
Elijah Repaired the Altar Stone by Stone
Notice Elijah did not build a new altar.
He repaired the old one.
The covenant had not changed.
The assignment had not changed.
The people had simply abandoned what God had already established.
Some things don’t need to be reinvented.
They need to be restored.
God is calling many back to:
* Prayer
* Fasting
* Worship
* Holiness
* Consecration
* Intercession
These are the stones of the altar.
As I prayed, the Lord showed me altars on fire while someone was present to tend them.
But when that person left, the fire went out.
What does that reveal?
The altar was dependent upon a person rather than a priesthood.
Many believers have become dependent on corporate gatherings, conferences, and leaders to keep their fire alive.
But God is calling us to become keepers of the flame.
The fire must burn when nobody is watching.
The altar must remain when nobody is prompting.
The Pieces Must Return
You cannot repair an altar while withholding pieces of yourself.
The head must return.
The heart must return.
The will must return.
The sacrifice must return.
God is not asking for a portion.
He is asking for the whole offering.
Prophetic Declaration
Tonight we are repairing what has been broken.
We are restoring what has been neglected.
We are rebuilding what has been abandoned.
We are reclaiming what belongs to God.
The altar of prayer.
The altar of worship.
The altar of sacrifice.
The altar of consecration.
The altar of encounter.
Because before the fire can fall…
The altar must be repaired.
🔥 Return.
🔥 Repent.
🔥 Rebuild.
🔥 Reclaim.
Prayer:
“Father, reveal every broken place in my altar. Show me where neglect, compromise, busyness, and familiarity have dismantled my pursuit of You. Restore in me a hunger for Your presence. Rebuild the altar of prayer, worship, and consecration in my life. Let the fire of Your Spirit burn continually upon the altar of my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.” 🔥
