The 95th Silent Hill Cemetery Association meeting was held on August 5, 2026 at the Old McConnell School house in McConnell, Illinois.

President Shelvan Heid called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m.

Those present at the meeting were Shelvan Heid, Mike Schindler, Lonnie Klontz, Robin Pardus.

Secretary Robin Pardus read the minutes from the last meeting. Mike Schindler motioned to accept the minutes and Lonnie Klontz second the motion. All agree, motion was carried.

Treasurer Mike Schindler read the treasurer's report. Robin Pardus motioned to accept the report and Shelvan Heid second the motion. All agreed, motion was carried.

Lonnie Klontz made a comment that the cemetery is looking great and mowing people are doing a good job. Robin said she thought it was looking good too. Shelvan said he still had to go up and trim limbs back a bit.

Perpetual Care Money; Mike Schindler gave a report on our perpetual care money and how we are only allowed to take the interest and use not the actual perpetual care fund.

Tree issue; Shelvan is going to start checking into other tree cutters and their cost as he felt the one who gave him an estimate was too high in price.

Shelvan Heid motioned to close the meeting and Lonnie Klontz second the motion. Meeting dismissed at 7:45 p.m.

Next meeting will be May 5th, 2027

The 94th Silent Hill Cemetery Meeting.

Vice President Jason Knapp called the meeting to order at 7 PM.

Secretary Robin Pardus read the secretary's minutes from the last meeting. Mike Schindler motion to approve, Lonnie Klontz seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Treasurer Mike Schindler gave the treasurer's report. Robin Pardus motioned to approve, Jason Knapp seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Robin Pardus asked Mike Schindler how much are we putting in perpetual care fund and the ruling and how much to contribute to it. Mike Schindler said he will check into it again to make sure we are in right of donating what we are putting into the perpetual care. He was originally thinking it was 12% or 12.5% but he will check-in it to it to be sure.

President Shelvan Heid was abscent from the meeting to give any report on what is happening with tree being taken down.

Jason Knapp brought up that maybe we should start promoting to help sell lots so that we can have the money into our accounts to pay for things like removal of tree.

Robin Pardus also told the group that she has had a boy scout contact her who is wanting to do a Eagle Scout project. Robin has met with him and walked around cemetery and talked about things he is maybe wanting to do. He is going to have it written up to turn into his leader then meet with us to verify it with us officers to make sure we all know what he plans to do before he gets started.

Robin Pardus motioned to adjourn the meeting, Jason Knapp seconded the motion and the meeting was adjourned at 7:59 PM.

The next meeting is August 5, 2026

We want to Thank Elmer Heid for all the clean up he did after all these winds storms and also to Roger Klontz for the rods that Robin is using to help keep some of the stones standing.

Silent Hill Cemetery Association would like you to please remember to remove Christmas decorations-flowers! Our mowing people are getting things ready for mowing season. Please use saddles, vases on tombstones or shepherds hooks to help keep cemetery clean from flowers blowing everywhere! Also please contact an officer if you would like to buy a lot or if you have any complaints. Always remember if you complain, maybe you should be doing the mowing and weeding the cemeteries!!!!
