Dear fellow Orthodox and friends in McComb and environs,

This Sunday, October 13th, the Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Fathers of the 7th Ecumenical Council. Rev. Timothy Yates, presently serving as a chaplain at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, will be with us this weekend for Vespers Saturday at 6 pm followed by Coffee Hour and Divine Liturgy at 10 AM Sunday morning, followed by coffee hour. On all other Sundays, we have Reader's Service at 10 am followed by Coffee Hour.

Dear fellow Orthodox and friends in McComb and environs,

This Sunday, July 14th, we commemorate the Holy Fathers of the Six Ecumenical Councils. Father Jason Foster will be serving Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am, followed by Coffee Hour. Father Jason, who will be visiting with his family, serves at Holy Nativity Orthodox Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. He is the Dean of the Mississippi Valley Deanery of the Diocese of the South, and, as such, is our “priest in charge.”

We hope to see you for this service. On other Sundays when we don't have Liturgy, we have Reader's Service at 10 am, followed by Coffee Hour.

Dear fellow Orthodox and friends in McComb and environs,

Tomorrow, Sunday, is Sunday of the Publican and the Pharisee - Beginning of the Lenten Triodion. Our Dean, Fr. Jason Foster (of Holy Nativity of the Lord Orthodox Church, Shreveport, Louisiana), will serve Vespers tonight at 6 pm, followed by Confession, and Divine Liturgy tomorrow at 10 am, followed by Coffee Hour and Parish meeting. Please join us for these worship services!

All other Sundays we have Reader's Service (Typica) at 10 am, followed by Coffee Hour. Next Sunday, March 3rd, is Sunday of the Prodigal Son. This year, Great Lent begins March 18th and Pascha is May 5th.

Typica Canceled This Weekend

We will not be having Typica (Reader's Service) tomorrow at 10 am. Typica will resume next Sunday, August 6th, when we will commemorate The Holy Transfiguration of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.

Dormition Fast

The Dormition Fast begins August 1st and continues through August 14th. On Tuesday, August 15th, we commemorate the Dormition of our Most Holy Lady the Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary, although we will not have a service. The fast is one of the established fasts of the Church, the others being Great Lent before Pascha, the Nativity fast and the Apostles fast. Click here for Dormition fasting guidelines.

Baptisms, Vespers, and Divine Liturgy This Weekend

On June 5th, Father Alexis, Matushka, and their seven boys are moving to Fort Smith, Arkansas, and they will be greatly missed. During his 3 1/2 years with us, Fr. Alexis has worked tirelessly - and with great success! - to grow the three Missions he has served in Mississippi.

Today at 4 pm, Father will baptize our three catechumens. Vespers will begin at 5:30 pm, followed by Confessions, and Divine Liturgy tomorrow at 10 am, followed by Coffee Hour.
