Sue McKinley Kuyrkendall of McComb, MS passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025 at the age of 84. She is survived by her husband, Carl Kuyrkendall; her daughter, Debbie Butler (Billy); her son, Lee Kuyrkendall: her granddaughters, Jennifer and Stephanie Butler, and Kasey Kuyrkendall; and her great-granddaughter, Carlee Addison. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Annette Fortenberry, as well as four nieces and a nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents, Braxton and Ethel McKinley; her son, Jon Kuyrdendall; her daughter-in-law, Kelly Kuyrkendall; and her brother-in-law Glen Fortenberry.

Sue was born on March 6, 1941 in McComb, MS. She dedicated her career to education, where she served as a longtime kindergarten teacher in Pike, Walthall, and Lawrence Counties. For decades, she shaped young minds with patience and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on countless students and families. Sue found her greatest joy in time spent with her loved ones, her dogs, and her many kindergarten students. As well as other sports, she particularly enjoyed following Duke University basketball. Sue was a lifetime member of Navilla Baptist Church.

Sue will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and educator whose legacy lives on through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank Camellia Estates and Hospice Compassus for their care and compassion.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Navilla Baptist Church in McComb, MS. Committal to follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, any memoriam can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Shirley Ann Webb, 82, a resident of Tylertown, MS passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 1000 AM until services at 200 PM at Navilla Baptist Church, burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Trent Bilbo will officiate. Hartman

John Walter Lambert, 93 of McComb, MS passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025 at Aston Court Retirement Community in McComb, Mississippi. He was born Tuesday, August 18, 1931 in Lawrence County, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 9:30 am until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Navilla Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Navilla Baptist Church Cemetery in McComb, MS. Bro. Trent Bilbo will officiate. Sharkey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
John will be remembered as a hardworking man of integrity, a loving husband, step-father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother uncle and family member, and a gentle soul who found joy in the simple beauty of life. He worked for PAVCO in Pascagoula, MS for 47 years. When he retired, he came back home to Ruth, MS. He was known for his legendary vegetable garden, his immaculate yard which he kept up himself up into his 90’s, and the quiet strength of his faith will live on in the memories of all who knew and loved him. He loved reading his bible daily. He was a deacon at Ruth Baptist Church and Navilla Baptist Church. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, love, and the enduring power of a life well-lived.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy A. Spencer Lambert; father, Leon E. Lambert; mother, Ollie D. Greer Lambert; brothers, Leon E. Lambert, Jr., Clifton E. Lambert, Norwood Lambert and Gordon Lambert; sisters, Frances Lambert Smith, Dorothy M. Lambert Biggerstaff and Paulette Lambert
Survivors include his wife, Elsie W. Hart Lambert of McComb, MS; step-daughters, Carol B. Cato and Anne B. Tobias; grandchildren, Megan McKenzie, Aubree Porter, Susan Lee, Britany Byrd, Brian Byrd and Annia Tobias; brothers, Quin Lambert of Knoxville, TN and Bobby Lambert of Vaiden, MS; sisters, Carolyn Lambert Robinson of Gulfport, MS, Lois Lambert Price of Terry, MS; great grandchildren, Gloria Moak, Jackson Moak and Garrison Williams.
Pallbearers will be James Wicker, Donald Brown, Carl Linton, William Pannell, Eugene Lambert and Leon Lambert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Darwin Peoples, Billy Nimon and Willard McKenzie.
Special music will be performed by the Navilla Trio.
