Yall, Wednesday night was one of those nights I’ll never forget. I’m starting to cry just writing this out…
Our students gathered around more than 50 backpacks that will soon be placed into the hands of children and families in our community. But before a single backpack leaves our church, it was covered in prayer.
It was reverent. It was emotional. It was deeply spiritual.
Every single student and leader physically laid their hands on every single backpack. They didn’t rush through it. They prayed over each one with sincerity, asking God to protect the child who will carry it, to strengthen their family, to provide for every need, and to reveal His love in a real and personal way. Many of our students openly wept as they prayed.
These aren’t just backpacks filled with school supplies. They’re reminders that someone cares, that a church is praying, and that God sees every child who will receive one.
Watching our students pour their hearts into this was a beautiful picture of what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We couldn’t be more proud of them. I’ve never seen them take something more serious. It moved me in a way I’m still trying to understand in my spirit. The words I type here will never convey what their spiritual sincerity meant to me.
Please join us in continuing to pray for every student and every family who will receive these backpacks. May this school year be marked by God’s protection, provision, wisdom, and peace.
Likewise, give God a moment of gratitude for a student group that is as bold as they are in faith 💪🏼
