We had an excellent last day of school dismissal today. There were no out breaks of fights or acts of violence. The presence of the Faith Based, Community Partners and the Residents was the major difference today! Let’s continue to pray for a “Safe Summer!” We appreciate the support from: PLCCA, Black Men United, Brothers In Christ and PTMAN.
Also, we thank, Paul’s Hotdogs and Joe’s BBQ for providing refreshments for the departing students at Proviso West!!

Let’s Save the Victims

Satan wants to seize the ripest fruit on the tree, you!

Listen to these words: “And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat (Luke 22:31).”

Unfortunately, many are now the victims of Satan’s bite. They roam our community looking for whom they can devour. They’re everywhere!

They are carrying out Satan’s agenda in the community. You can bare witness to this!

You have watched as they have evicted God from the State House, the Court House, the School House, your House and yes, even from His House. Where they have replaced theology with psychology and sacrifice with prosperity. How can we reverse this tragic trend?

The Sola Scriptura, gospel of Christ is the only legitimate antidote for saving the snake bitten “soul” from the venom of Satan’s bite!

Jesus gives us a biblical bifocal look at the contrast between Satan’s coming and His coming:

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10).”

As Christians, we must save our community. A “Saved Community is a Safe Community!”

We must pronounce the gospel of Christ to a dying community that has been victimized by Satan. Repent, and be saved, should be our cry!

Get the message out. As it is written:
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Rom. 10:13).”

Keep the faith!!

1. “A Nation Without God” (Pvb. 29:16-18). A nation that rejects moral authority is doomed .

2. “A Troubled Heart” (John 14:1). How to deal with the vicissitudes of life.

3. “A Moral Man, Living In An Immoral World” (Romans 6:1-5). The challenge of living Holy!

Those are just samples of the provocative works of Dr. Saffo.

What about this one:
“Having a Thankful Moment” (Luke 15:17). Sometimes it’s the unfortunate events of life that we should be thankful for. They allow us to appreciate what we have!

I would like to thank all of those who contributed to and supported our Safe Summer Initiative. Because of you, we were able to enroll several youth into our entrepreneurial camp and our internship program.

For almost eight years, we have been fortunate enough to provide this opportunity to the youth of our community. In doing so, we believe that we have set a standard. That is, our programs are funded not by grants or loans, but by the community. I have nothing against grants or loans they have their place in community.

But at some point, I believe we have to rely upon the efficacy of God and the efficiency of community. Such as churches, not-for-profits, community agencies and the average citizen.

I would like to think that over the eight years, we have tapped into the power of transformative communal thought. With this form of thinking, we dispel that baneful myth that we are a poor community. This is a myth!

It’s amazing to me how we are so quick to claim that we live in a poor community, but yet every other group that setup shop in our community, they get rich!!

We must learn to be creative and self sufficient. Don’t make the government your daddy!! Let’s embrace the spirit of “Black Wall Street!”

Lastly, it is important that we display for our children how we the adults will work together and use our talents and resources to CREATE for them economic opportunities and safety during the summer.

That’s what we do! With God’s help, we will continue to do it!! Again, thank you 🙏🏾
