Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Charles/St. Nicholas:

It was discovered yesterday that St. Nicholas suffered a furnace malfunction. Because of this there can be no Mass celebrated at St. Nicholas Crates this weekend. Once we hear from the insurance adjusters in the coming days we will have more information on the weekend Mass Schedule/Location. PLEASE NOTE FOR THIS WEEKEND THERE WILL ONLY BE ONE MASS at 10AM at , SAINT CHARLES, NEW BETHLEHEM.

If you are unable to attend this weekend’s Mass for St. Charles/St. Nicholas at that time please note the following other Mass times in the area to help you:

Saturday, January 31:
4pm: Immaculate Conception, Clarion (with Confession before from 3pm-3:40pm) and at St. Michael, Fryburg
5pm: St. Patrick, Brady’s Bend
5:15pm: Immaculate Conception, Brookvile
6pm: St. Mary, Crown

Sunday, February 1:
8am: St. Mary, Crown
8:30am: Immaculate Conception, Clarion and Immaculate Conception, Brookville
9:30am: St. Patrick, Bradys Bend and St. Joseph, Lucinda
10:30am: Immaculate Conception, Brookville
11am: Immaculate Conception, Clarion and St. Michael, Fryburg
11:15am: St. Eusebius, East Brady

A blessed Friday afternoon to you. I am writing to you with important Parish Operations Updates as well as a few reminders:
1. Regarding this Weekend (January 24/25):
a. Regarding the Holy Sacrifice of the Lord’s Day Mass:
i. The faithful are encouraged to attend the Saturday Vigil Mass if at all possible at 4pm at IC or 5:30pm at St. Nicholas, Crates.
ii. All Masses at IC will be livestreamed at their normal times this weekend. Continue to make Sunday holy by praying the Mass via livestream through Youtube, Facebook, Website and using the resources via our website, myparishapp, etc.
iii. If you are unable to do so remember that the obligation to attend Mass does not apply to those unable to attend due to illness, dangerous travel, or other serious reasons anytime during the year.
iv. In the event that Fr. Cory is unable to arrive to St. Charles, please see number 3 below.
b. Regarding Non Mass Activities this weekend: All non Mass activites are canceled. (Including Faith Formation)
2. Non Church related matters:
a. The Time to prepare is NOW. If you need groceries, gas, etc., do not wait until tomorrow.
b. Please check on your neighbors, especially the alone and elderly.
c. If you have an emergency please call 911. If you have a sacramental/religious emergency, call the emergency line. But please again prepare now so you don’t become a statistic because of last minute preparations.
3. Cancelation Communication Reminder: As a reminder if there is any cancelation at anytime during the year of any event all information will be communicated as soon as possible via social media, email and myparishapp.

In the meantime, heed the warnings of local officials/ordinances as we also urge you to not risk life or safety, or that of others, in order to attend Mass or other church functions this weekend.

But, please keep the sabbath holy.
