“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, The holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭46‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

🌎♻️ What a great conclusion to our STEM VBS!

Students learned about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, caring for God’s creation, and how to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle in both our world and our spiritual lives.

We are proud of the four participants who received prizes for demonstrating exceptional creativity and practical thinking through their STEM prototypes. Students also shared the Bible verses they have hidden in their hearts, reminding us of the importance of reusing God’s Word every day.

Most importantly, we learned that being good stewards of God’s creation begins with having a relationship with Him.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this week a success! Enjoy these photos from our final day and project presentations. 📸

Today our students began exploring the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and learning how our everyday choices can impact God’s creation. Through STEM activities, discussions, and hands-on learning, we discovered ways we can better care for the earth by practicing the three R’s: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

But we also learned that these principles apply to our spiritual lives!

📖 Reuse God’s Word by hiding Scripture in our hearts and using it when we face challenges.

🧹 Reduce the things in our lives that distract us from following Jesus and living according to His Word.

🔄 Recycle our experiences, talents, and even our mistakes by allowing God to transform them into something that brings Him glory and helps others.

Our key reminder today was that just as pollution can harm our oceans, spiritual pollutants can keep us from growing closer to God. When we fill our hearts and minds with His truth, we become better stewards of both His creation and the lives He has given us.

We can’t wait to see what God teaches us tomorrow as we continue our STEM adventure of discovering how faith and stewardship work together!

What a meaningful day at church as we celebrated 100 years of Black History Month ❤️🖤💚

Our young people led with powerful presentations, heartfelt poems, and reflections on songs like “We’ve Come This Far by Faith,” reminding us of the faith and perseverance of those who came before us.

They also honored our ancestors’ resilience by learning how the bare minimum was transformed into nourishing meals — from making fresh butter to experiencing hot water cornbread.

Grateful for a church family that remembers, teaches, and celebrates our rich heritage. 💛
