WHY THE THREE CROSSES BEFORE THE GOSPEL?

Before the Gospel is proclaimed, the Priest makes three small signs of the cross on himself—a beautiful prayer preparing our mind, lips, and heart to receive and live the Word of God.
1 THE FOREHEAD
Lord, may Your Gospel be in my mind.
(Understanding and believing God’s Word).
2 THE LIPS
Lord, may Your Gospel be on my lips.
(Proclaiming and speaking God’s truth).
3 THE HEART
Lord, may Your Gospel be in my heart.
(Loving and living the Word).
THE LITURGICAL RESPONSES
PRIEST:
“A reading from the Holy Gospel...”
FAITHFUL:
“Glory to You, O Lord.”
A true disciple believes, proclaims, and lives the Gospel.-John Crane

Congratulations to our Reverend Cody Blackmon and Jordan Sandrock on their marriage this morning!
May God bless your sacred union with wisdom, understanding, and a deep commitment to walk together in faith and love.

Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:14

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Ascension Day

Today we celebrate Ascension Day, remembering when Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and promised to be with us always. This special day reminds us of His victory, His ongoing presence in our lives, and the hope we have in His return. May we reflect on His love and share His message of grace with the world every year as we honor this sacred moment.

"Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Acts 1:9-11

A prayer for Mother's Day.

Loving God, source of life and mother of all, we thank you for the mothers and mother figures in our lives: for stepmothers, grandmothers, aunts, godmothers, cousins, sisters, and friends who have shown us your love in their care for us. Give us grateful hearts, that we may bear forth in our lives the fruits of their love.
We also remember before you all those for whom this day is a difficult one. We mourn with those who wish to be mothers, but cannot, even as we rejoice in the fullness and completeness of their lives. For those mothers and children whose relationships have been strained or broken; we pray for repentance, where necessary, for reconciliation, where possible, and in all things a sense of your abiding presence. And for those whose mothers or children have died, we pray that today might be a reminder of that glad company of saints who surround us on every side. We offer all these prayers to you, O loving God, in the name of your son and Mary’s son, Jesus the Christ. Amen.
