Playing it safe can feel like the wise thing to do. We avoid the risks, protect what we have, and stay comfortable—but what if playing it safe is actually keeping us from being faithful?

Fear keeps us moving forward in fearfulness, and fearfulness distracts us from faithfulness. In Matthew 25, Jesus shows us that playing it safe can actually cost us everything.

If you’ve ever dealt with fear, you’re not alone. God wants to help you move beyond fear and into faith.

The 1980s: A Vision Becoming Reality.

In the 1980s, a new chapter began as Calvary broke ground on its longtime home at 5025 Glendale Avenue.

While the new sanctuary sat unfinished, the church spent a decade meeting in the gym and trusted God to provide. Baptisms took place in backyard pools, prayers filled the church, and lives continued to be changed.

The building was still under construction, but God was already building something greater. 75 years later, we look back with gratitude for the faithfulness of what Only God can do and the faith of those who trusted Him along the way.
