FWC SERMON SERIES
RUTH | NOTHING WASTED
WEEK TWO | LOVE AGAINST ALL ODDS

SUNDAY, JUNE 14, 2026
Pastor Brad Brown

SERMON RECAP:
In a culture where marriage rates are collapsing and relationships are more complicated than ever, this sermon opens the ancient Book of Ruth to show that God's design for love still works. Through the story of Ruth — a foreign widow with nothing but her faith and work ethic — and Boaz — a man of godly character, integrity, and generosity — the sermon lays out four qualities every godly woman should have and four qualities every godly man should display in relationships.

The heart of the message is that Ruth came to the field empty-handed expecting very little, but the generosity of Boaz exceeded every need — a picture of how God himself works in our lives when we trust Him. Most powerfully, the sermon draws a direct line between Boaz inviting Ruth to his table and Jesus inviting every broken, empty-handed person to His — reminding us that no past is too messy and no chapter one is too dark for God to rewrite. If you have ever felt forgotten, overlooked, or disqualified by your own history — this message is for you.

FWC SERMON SERIES
RUTH | NOTHING WASTED
WEEK ONE | THE WRONG ADDRESS
SUNDAY, JUNE 7, 2026
Pastor Brad Brown

SERMON RECAP:

In the first week of the sermon series on Ruth, the focus is on the theme of "Wrong Address," highlighting the consequences of choosing the wrong path in life. The message draws parallels between Ruth's journey and modern-day decisions, illustrating how people often prioritize economic security over spiritual direction when faced with difficulties. Pastor Brad emphasizes the importance of trusting God's guidance, even in tough times, and poses the critical question of whether individuals are willing to leave their "Moab"—symbolic of poor choices—to return to the blessings of "Bethlehem." Ruth’s commitment to Naomi and her declaration of faith represent a powerful moment of repentance and transformation, showcasing how one decisive action can change the course of one's life. Ultimately, the sermon encourages listeners to reflect on their own lives and consider what steps they need to take to move toward God's purpose and blessings.

NOT NORMAL | WEEK 6
CHILDLIKE FAITH
Pastor Brad Brown

Sermon Recap:
Jesus broke religious and cultural barriers by welcoming children who were considered unimportant and insignificant in the ancient world. The disciples tried to turn children away from Jesus, reflecting the normal cultural attitudes of their day, but Jesus became angry with them for blocking people from coming to him freely. Jesus elevated children by embracing them, blessing them, and declaring that the Kingdom of God belongs to them. True faith is not about religious performance but about coming to Jesus with open, dependent, and trusting hands like a child. Religion builds walls and creates gatekeepers, but Jesus tears those walls down and invites everyone to come to him just as they are.

Jesus didn't ignore the interruptions —
He stopped FOR them.

He pushed past religion to get to a relationship.
He welcomed the ones everyone else dismissed.

And this Sunday? We're diving into one of the most powerful — and unexpected — things Jesus ever said about the Kingdom of Heaven... and WHO it actually belongs to. You might be surprised. 😏
