Happy Father's Day to those who have shaped and molded us into who the Lord wants us to be. Thank you Dads for answering the call of being a dad.

Thanks for doing the dirty work, the hard jobs, and the tough stuff that sometimes goes unnoticed. It's not much, but we have a small gift of appreciation for you this morning. Come be the leader you were born to be by leading your family in to worship with us at 10 AM if you don't currently have a place to bring your family. We'll be eager to see you!

Who have you invited to church with you this week?

Did you know that studies show that up to 82% of our non-churched friends would attend a service with someone if they were invited? Let's start the invitations now, and arrange how you will help welcome them and make them feel wanted. Meet them in the parking lot, walk in together, introduce them to other friends, offer to take them to lunch, invite them back and let them know PPBC is a place for them too!

"Show hospitality to one another..." 1 Peter 4:9

Church isn't just a place, it's a family experience. Let's add to our family!

Go out and change the world by sharing Jesus with someone today!

"Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God." 2 Corinthians 5:20

It's 6:30 a.m., 82 years ago, and the time had arrived for the main amphibious beach landings to begin at Omaha and Utah beaches. There were already paratroopers dropping in behind enemy lines during the night before, and our US Navy was bombarding the shoreline and enemy installments. The enemy was now awake and alert.

If that timeline and those places are not something you're familiar with, if you want to know and understand courage under fire, you'll familiarize yourself more with those places and the people who were present. And also take time to learn the names of those that never came home because of that day. What's more, there are entire countries, and an entire continent of people that were rescued because of that day, and those brave men who faced the wrath of Hitler's Atlantic Wall.

More than 2,500 Americans were killed on D-Day in 1944. This was the largest seaborne assault in history to ever take to the seas. The Allied forces had to press forward onto the European continent, liberating Europe everywhere they stepped. The assault on the beaches at Normandy had to be done, and the enemy also knew it had to be done. Every effort was made to mask the location and day when the attack would occur in order to establish the Allied invasion, but the enemy was waiting still and formidable.

And yet the Americans led the charge and pushed forward, knowing our military men were running into an angry buzzsaw. But thankfully, that angry buzzsaw hadn't met the full force of our American military might yet either, and our men were victorious. The world has been different ever since because of the bravery displayed on that day.

It did not come without exacting a cost, as doing the right thing often requires. 2,510 Americans lost their lives that day. Never let it be said that we don't live in the greatest country this world has ever known. Argue over the finer details and bicker about silly politicians, but one can never argue that our military has the heart of a lion, a backbone strong as steel and the courage of a warrior. Today, remember why we all can love America, and we can love all Americans! πŸ’ͺπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
