It’s time to learn a new verse for October! This month’s verse is a reminder that just as a shepherd guides his sheep to the best pastures and calmest waters, God is always leading us to what is best. We can trust our Shepherd to lead us gently and to give us the peace and rest that only He can provide. As you learn the verse this month, talk about how comforting a shepherd’s presence must be for little sheep! Tell your child about some times when God has given you His peace and comfort. Make sure to stop by the Verse Table on Sunday to grab this month’s coloring sheet and sticker! 🐑

This year, Carmel Preschoolers have a fun way to explore our Hide & Seek Verses at home with our NEW monthly coloring sheet! As your Preschooler works to complete their coloring sheet, talk about how the picture helps us understand the meaning of the verse:

• What is the sheep doing in the picture?
• How does the picture help us think about the words of the verse?
• What does this teach us about the Shepherd?

Encourage your child to find the shepherd’s staff in each picture as a reminder that every verse of Psalm 23 shows us more about OUR Shepherd, Jesus!

We would LOVE to see how your family is using the coloring sheets at home! If you haven’t picked up a coloring page and sticker yet, come by the Verse Table on Sunday!

It’s time to begin learning Psalm 23! Check out the video to hear the verse, practice some motions, and learn a little more about what this first verse is all about! Make sure you stop by the Verse Table today to pick up a pack of verse cards for your family as well as a fun coloring sheet for your Preschooler to color this month. And EVERY Sunday morning, your child has an opportunity to say the verse at the Verse Table and add a sticker by their name on our Verse Chart. We LOVE to encourage each and every family to learn God’s Word together!

Midweek kicks off tomorrow night and so does our NEW parenting class, Purposeful Parenting! Based on the book Purposeful and Persistent Parenting by John and Cindy Raquet, this Wednesday night small group focuses on creating intentional, grace-filled homes where parents confidently shepherd their children according to the Word of God. We’ll discuss practical tips on creating schedules, Bible memory and reading, discipline and consequences, and building family culture. Whether you are navigating the sleepless newborn phase, the challenging toddler years, or the busy school-age season, this study will encourage you to focus on long-term faithfulness over immediate results. Purposeful Parenting will meet September 2-December 9 in U260 from 6:30-7:30. Childcare provided as part of Midweek programming at Carmel Baptist Church!

Tomorrow is Promotion Sunday! We can’t wait to see you and your family as we begin a new year and new rhythm together!

We LOVE our leaders! All the fun we had at ROME-in’ Around VBS wouldn’t have been possible without the help of more than 200 student and adult leaders! If you taught in a classroom, traveled as a shepherd, led in a gym, served up snacks, acted onstage, pushed buggies of toddlers, or helped in countless other ways—THANK YOU! It’s a joy to be part of so many ages serving Jesus by loving and leading our youngest! Here’s a look back at some of our amazing leaders in action Carmel Baptist Church last week!

Day 4 of VBS really made a splash! We learned that while Paul was in prison in Jerusalem, he asked to be taken to Rome for a trial. He survived a shipwreck and a venomous snake bite before finally making it to Rome! There, Paul strengthened the church, encouraged the believers, and preached boldly about Jesus to everyone. From Rome (the heart of the Roman Empire) the Good News continued to GO to many more people and places all over the world. And…the growing and going continues today! THANK YOU for ROME-in’ Around with us! It’s been a week full of fun, games, snacks, crafts, stories, songs, and—best of all—the Good News of Jesus!
