Our final day…day 20 sharing our experiences from our mission trip to Coatesville, Pa!

Each year I look forward to going on the mission trip. And this trip was as awesome as the trips in the past. It was a joy watching our team work with others and working with each other. Coatesville PA was no different. The people we worked with were wonderful and our group did a great job.

If you ever wonder what you could do on a mission trip, there is always something for everyone to do. We were able to help clean up the outside of an old catholic school. There was stuff still left in the school that needed to be taken out and demolishing to be done. Mr. Billy and I had the privilege to take down the posts for an old fence.

The community center and Pastor Josh do a great job helping people in the community. I can say what they are doing is very hard to do. Feeding and ministering to about 50 children about 2-3 days a week is no easy task but they have the heart to do it every time. We were able to help them one afternoon to help feed the children and to also get to know some of the children.

The week that we were in Coatesville was the week before Easter and we got to go shopping for the food that would be given out to the families that didn’t have food. We also got to shop for clothing and Easter baskets for 3 children who didn’t have anything. We also got help give out food too.

If I could go back there next year I would go. I encourage anyone who can go on a mission trip to go. Even if you can’t do hard labor there is something for you to do even if it’s just talking to people and praying for them. ~Beth

Day 19 sharing a different perspective on our time in Coatesville, PA!

I wasn't sure I'd be able to go on the mission trip this year but after prayerful consideration and continuous encouragement by my wife, I felt it was what God wanted me to do. After we arrived and pastor Josh shared with us the mission I knew this was exactly where I was supposed to be. Others have shared what we actually did on the mission trip, but I would like to thank those who worked so hard to make the trip successful. This includes, and I hope I don't miss anyone, Ms Ashley who was not only taking care of everything on the mission field for our group, but continued to help with the daycare back at Matoaca. I'd like to think Dave Foreman for his commitment to feed us and clean up, which can be a thankless job, but is so important to those in the mission field. And I'd like to thank our church members who prayed for us and supported the daycare while we were gone by volunteering their time. Finally, I'd like to thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for leading us there and giving us the strength and wisdom to get the job done. ~Billy

Day 18 experience from Coatesville, Pa.!

This was a great opportunity to help another church !!! and that we did !!! I sure would like to go back to help them again and again, whatever it takes. Their reception and hospitality towards us was amazing. We felt right at home. I loved the fact they had a daycare as well. We enjoyed playing outside with their kids.

They have such a great opportunity with their recently acquired additional new building. However, they have a lot of work to do with the newly purchased additional facility before it’s available.

There are homes all around their current location and they already have a thriving daycare with a very nice staff of teachers. The kids and the daycare ladies get along famously. I look forward to seeing how their new location compliments what they are currently managing.

Their staff of teachers, children and parents get along famously just like what happens here at our daycare here at good ole Matoaca 🙂

We had great accommodations where our team of adults and kids stayed and much appreciative of the accommodations as to where we spent the night. The facility was oh so nice.

Thank you drivers of the vans to and fro and oh yes, thank you to the professional chef that made meal time, oh so enjoyable. Thank you additional adults that that made the trip and you Mom’s and Dad’s for allowing your kids to go on the mission trip! ~Louis

Day 16 seeing how God worked in Coatesville, Pa!

This past mission trip to Coatesville, Pennsylvania, was an experience that truly changed my perspective on service and community.
What stood out most wasn’t just the physical work, but the unity within our team. There were moments of exhaustion, but also so much laughter, encouragement, and growth. It reminded me that serving isn’t always easy, but it is always worth it.
We spent time at a local community center, and this part of the trip had a deep impact on me. We weren’t just there to help; we were there to connect. Whether it was talking with kids, helping with activities, or simply being present, it became clear how powerful showing up can be. The people we met were kind, welcoming, and resilient. They didn’t need us to fix everything; they just needed to know they were seen, valued, and loved.
One of the biggest lessons I took away from this trip is that missions isn’t just about big actions—it’s about small, consistent acts of love. It’s about listening, serving with humility, and recognizing that God is already at work in the lives of the people we meet.
Coatesville may have been a short trip, but the impact it left reminded me that no act of service is too small, and that even in places that seem forgotten, there is so much hope, strength, and purpose. ~Abi

Day 15 sharing how we saw God work in Coatesville, Pa!

Like a few others, this was my very first mission trip. While I don’t consider myself a Christian, the experience I had was unlike anything else in my life. I was hesitant at first to come along as I felt that I’d stick out from everyone else. Little did I know how wrong I’d be as it ended up being quite the opposite. My time with friends and the people I met, even in the smallest of ways, changed me for the better. It’s not often that you put in such hard work—not for monetary value—but out of the pure kindness of one’s heart and a sense of fulfillment, that alone changed my perspective and outlook on how I can work to make not just my own life, but the lives of those around me better. I can’t put into words just how much I appreciate the opportunity to come along on such an amazing trip with people whom I hold so close to my heart. ~Nick

Day 14 sharing how God is working in Coatesville, Pa!

I went on a mission trip to Coatesville, Pennsylvania, and it was actually a really good experience. I helped spread mulch on a playground, which wasn’t the most exciting thing at first, but it felt good knowing it would help the kids. One of my favorite parts was playing soccer with inner-city kids at the facility the church ran it was just really fun and we connected easily. I also got to change a lock on a door that they couldn’t fix before, which made me feel like I actually made a difference. Overall, it was a solid trip and showed me that even simple things can help people a lot. ~Joshua
