The War Is Temporary, but the Word Is Eternal

“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.”
- Isaiah 40:8

Battles change.

Doctors’ reports change.

Bank accounts change.

Relationships change.

Feelings change.

But God’s Word never changes.

If your peace is tied to changing circumstances, your peace will constantly move.

But if your peace is anchored in God’s unchanging Word, you’ll remain steady even when life isn’t.

Storms may surround you…

…but they don’t have to live inside you.

What You Focus On Will Shape You

Scripture:

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You…”
- Isaiah 26:3

Fear grows where faith is neglected.

If you constantly replay your problems, your problems become bigger in your mind.

But when you replay God’s promises, your faith becomes stronger than your fears.

David looked at Goliath, but he talked about God.

The battle was real.
The giant was real.
But God’s promise was greater.

Ask yourself:

* What am I thinking about all day?
* Am I rehearsing the problem or God’s promise?

This week, let’s discuss what happens when we Meditate on the Word, Not the War.

Key Scripture:

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”
- Joshua 1:8

Every one of us is fighting something. Some battles are financial, others are emotional, relational, physical, or spiritual. The enemy wants your attention fixed on the battle because whatever has your attention often gains influence over your life.

God never told Joshua to spend his days studying his enemies. He told him to study His Word.

Victory doesn’t begin by obsessing over the war. It begins by meditating on the Word.
