"Recessional" is no longer favored, but the more liturgically correct "Procession Into The World" just won't work with this meme. Anyway, I'm sure you get the idea and hopefully appreciate the humor. Remember the time change!

📣 Announcing the Slate for the Ninth Bishop of Long Island
Following a comprehensive prayer-centered discernment process, the Search Committee has completed its work, and has submitted a slate of candidates which has received the approval of the Joint Oversight Committee. The individuals presented for consideration are:

🔹The Very Rev. Hickman Alexandre – Vicar, St. James, Brookhaven, NY
🔹The Rev. Adam J. Shoemaker, DMin – Rector, St. Stephen’s, Charleston, SC
🔹The Very Rev. Dr. Michael T. Sniffen – Dean of Long Island

Each candidate has agreed to stand for election, bringing particular gifts and experiences representing a variety of approaches to the central areas that were identified essential for our next bishop.

With the slate announced, the Joint Oversight Committee will open the petition process, inviting prayerful discernment as the diocese continues to seek the person God is calling to be our next bishop, with ample time for full vetting and review.

The Diocese now enters a season of continued discernment, reflection, and engagement, and we ask your continued prayers for our candidates, their families, and the entirety of the Diocese of Long Island.

Last week, I was proud to join the Suffolk County Department of Fire Rescue and Emergency Services (FRES) to donate an AED and NARCAN kits to St. Andrew’s Church in Mastic Beach.

This important initiative by FRES helps ensure that our local houses of worship are equipped with life-saving tools that can make a real difference during an emergency. AEDs are critical in responding to sudden cardiac events, where every second counts.

Thank you to FRES and Commissioner Rudy Sunderman for leading this impactful program and for their continued commitment to protecting the health and safety of our community.
