Ordination of Aissa Hillebrand to the Sacred Order of Priesthood,
Beloved in Christ,
In the Episcopal Church, ordination takes place by God’s call, by the laying on of the Bishop’s hands, and with the people’s consent. The Anglican Catholic / Episcopal Church ordains people after rigorous education and examination, fulfilling all Canon Law requirements in passing a General Ordination Examination, and answering questions before the Commission of Ministry and the Standing Committee to their satisfaction. The path to ordination can take anywhere from 5 years to much longer, depending on the individual’s own journey. As Episcopalians, we hold dear that the ordination is done in the Apostolic Succession, hence, in an unbroken line that leads back to Saint Peter.
It is with great joy that we announce the ordination of Aissa Hillebrand to the Sacred Order of Priesthood, which will take place on June 13, 2026, at 9 AM in the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Graden City. Please keep Aissa in your prayers.

Aissa Hillebrand
"Before entering discernment for ordained ministry, Aissa Hillebrand served for more than fifteen years as Director of Child Life Services in pediatric healthcare hospitals, where she led interdisciplinary teams, developed therapeutic programming, and advocated for trauma-informed, compassionate care. Her leadership extended into mentoring, policy development, and program design.
Aissa served for 9 years within the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island at the George Mercer Jr. Memorial School of Theology, supporting diocesan formation, Safe Church initiatives, and operational leadership. Her call to ministry has also been shaped by local and global experiences, including volunteering in healthcare settings and food ministries, as well as a medical mission trip to Chulucanas, Peru.
Aissa will complete her Master of Divinity on June 21st from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with concentrations in Child Development and Speech Communications from Syracuse University.
