Important Update from FBCM Leadership

We’re excited about the vision God has given us at First Baptist Church Mascoutah to Help Families Find & Follow Jesus!

As part of the Safety & Security goals in our strategic plan, we have begun the installation of security cameras across our entire campus and are now reengaging required background checks every 2 years for everyone serving in children’s, youth, or other vulnerable ministries and for our Safety Team.

Here’s what’s happening with the background checks:

If you are serving our Next Generation or on the Safety Team. You will soon receive an official email from MinistrySafe (our trusted screening partner) with a secure link to complete your background check.

This is 100% legitimate and completely confidential.

The process is quick, secure, and can be done on your phone in just a few minutes. These important steps — installing cameras and completing background checks — are practical ways we’re creating a safe and secure environment for every child and family that walks through our doors. Your willingness to serve and complete this check means more than you know!

Tip: Check your spam/junk folder if you don’t see the MinistrySafe email in the next 1–2 days.

Church Family — Exciting News!

While I’m in Orlando at the Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting, we have an incredible blessing waiting for us at home!

Pastor Doug Winkler, our former pastor, is coming back to preach on Sunday, June 7 and June 14!

For years Pastor Doug faithfully led FBCM with passionate Bible teaching, loving pastoral care, and a heart for families. He walked us through God’s Word in his “Through the Bible in Two Years” series, poured into our kids and students, stood with families in both celebration and sorrow, and served our community with joy. He and his wonderful family have been a true gift to Mascoutah First, and we are thrilled to welcome him back into the pulpit.

If you’ve been praying for fresh encouragement, renewed vision, and powerful worship — these two Sundays are for you! Whether you’re a longtime member, a guest, or somewhere in between, you’re going to be blessed as Pastor Doug opens the Scriptures and points us again to Jesus.
