Our Lord's Lutheran Church We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) that held its first worship service in 1965 in a rented theater.

n Maryville. We believe that God is the Creator of the world and our continual Provider, who calls us to share created resources compassionately and justly. God's heart and loving intentions for humankind are revealed definitively in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God's Son and God's Word of love to the world. God's Spirit is at work in the world creating faith, building community, and inspiring compassion. The Bible is the authority for faith and life, shows God's faithfulness through history, and reveals God's eternal love for humanity in Jesus Christ. The Sacrament of the Holy Communion is the "family meal" open to all who seek to encounter the Risen Christ and be reminded of their salvation, forgiveness, and call to be the "body of Christ" in the world. We are connected as a community of faith to the world around us. We are a congregation of the ELCA and its local Central/Southern Illinois Synod. With the ELCA, we are in ecumenical full communion with the Moravian Church, The Episcopal Church, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the United Methodist Church, the United Church of Christ, and the Reformed Church in America. We also partner in cooperative ministry projects with local congregations and agencies, and we support national and global missions.

OLLC Fair Trade Ministry
Over the years we have done well supporting the product providers for Our Fair Trade Shop. We have received numerous certificates showing appreciation for our ongoing help.

Now in their 40th year, with Equal Exchange’s we help their mission to build long-term trade partnerships that are economically just and environmentally sound, to foster mutually beneficial relationships between farmers and consumers and to demonstrate, through our success, the contribution of worker co-operatives and Fair Trade to a more equitable, democratic and sustainable world.

With SERRV we are helping fight global poverty through fair and ethical trade. One of the first fair trade organizations in the world, SERRV International began its mission in 1949 after World War II by helping displaced European refugees trade their handcrafts for income. Since then, they've extended their reach to countries worldwide, supporting over 5,000 artisans and farmers annually by selling their beautiful handcrafts and delicious foods.

It is my honor with the help of our Ministry to continue to assist in this great venture. Please come in and come in often.

On Saturday, September 12, from 8:00–11:00 a.m., Our Lord’s Lutheran Church will host a FREE First Responders Appreciation Breakfast for first responders and their families. Enjoy a hearty breakfast, fellowship, and our gratitude for all you do. If you can’t make it to the church, pickup and delivery are available!

Today at Our Lord’s, we were blessed to pray over the school supplies our congregation donated for the students of Caseyville Elementary School. Thank you to everyone who gave so generously to help children and teachers begin the school year with the tools they need to succeed. Your kindness is a wonderful example of Christ’s love in action.

As our children go back to school, remember and pray this blessing for our community children:

Dear God, as Caseyville Elementary School begins another year in school, we ask your blessing on these supplies, and especially on those children who will use them. As they do the very important work of being students, bless them with the tools they need to learn. Allow each item we have provided make the work of both students and teachers a little easier, so they may focus on learning. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
